Nearly three years ago, Tom Brady left the Patriots for good after six monumental SBs and 20 iconic seasons. The reason? There was no agreement on the contract where Brady could retire from the organization. At least that’s what Seth Wickersham’s ‘It’s better to be feared’ claimed. “Although the Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, was willing to listen to Brady’s demands, the head coach didn’t,” reported Wickersham in the book.

It was enough to send the NFL community into a frenzy, as Brady was one of the most adamant advocates of Bill Belichick during his final days with the Patriots. Almost every other player and analyst believed that it was best for the Patriots and Belichick to part ways, but Brady bluntly disagreed. Even during their reported ‘Cold War’, Tom Brady has upheld the same support, extinguishing all claims about his relationship turning sour with Bill Belichick.

Clearing out the fog surrounding the trending Belichick-Brady controversy, Brady spoke strongly against what he believes would be the real source of the rumors. “Toward the later part of my career there was so many people just trying to create some division, that some of it, most of it was untrue, but it’s just the way the world works,” admitted Brady on the Pat McAfee Show. Exposing the agenda behind it, Brady claimed that the source was nowhere else but in his former team. “Division from within the team is a big problem in his team environments,” added he.

Safe to say, the GOAT still cherishes every single lesson he learned from Belichick. He reiterated that once again, to clear it for once and for all. “My respect for Bill Belichick is pretty well documented. He was an incredible leader and coach for our team and I tried to do my best every single day that I took the field,” confessed Tom Brady.

Bill Belichick’s future is in limbo

Following some awful seasons and a plummeting record after Brady left, the 6x SB winning franchise thought parting ways with Belichick was for the best. Hence, after a mutual discussion, they declared in January 2024, “We’re going to move on.”

Since then, Belichick has not had any future teams department. While many teams, like the Giants, the Eagles, the Browns, and the Bills are rumored to be ‘interested’ in Belichick, the NFL’s transformation to a younger league and the teams focusing more on hiring younger coaches seems to be a major hindrance for the former Patriots head coach.
