Tom Brady can’t keep his mind off Bill Belichick. Remember when he was making fun of the 6x Super Bowl-winning coach in his segment on FOX? Yeah, that aged like milk. Brady impersonated Belichick, trying to recruit an 18-year-old to UNC, and it had the FOX panelists in stitches. But little did he know that those fun and games might actually turn into something serious.

TB12 was calling the EaglesSteelers game along with Kevin Burkhardt and couldn’t resist bringing up his former Patriots coach. However, this time, he had nothing but praise and nostalgia to offer. Check out what the FOX analyst thinks about UNC’s future with Bill Belichick.

“Bill Belichick going to college,” Burkhardt in the middle of the SNF game. Brady was elated talking about his former coach as he replied to his FOX colleague. “I know! Kind of blew me away when I heard the news. I didn’t think that was an opportunity he was looking at but they’re getting an obviously tremendous coach,” Brady replied to Burkhardt.

Being a protégé to the third most winningest coach in the NFL sounds like sunshine and rainbows. But when it comes to business, Belichick is as stern and brutal as they come. While Brady was sure that his players were going to lay themselves on the line for coach Belichick, finding those players may be a bit of a challenge. Not everyone can withstand Belichick’s training regimen.

Brady has seen tons of people come and go from the Patriots locker room, so he knows Belichick’s mindset when he’s scouting for players. TB12’s colleague, Burkhardt, was interested in knowing what that phone call or interview with Belichick might sound like. Brady didn’t paint the whole picture, but he still delivered.

“The thing is he’s not the warmest and fuzziest of all time. So it’s not like there’s tons I mean, I remember one year after we won the Super Bowl our first year. We got in a Limo, he was out on Bourbon Street after he beat the Rams in 2001. We got in a Limo after the game the next morning to go to the MVP press conference and he goes, ‘You know what Tom you had a pretty good season.’ That was about as warm and fuzzy as it got with coach Belichick,” Tom Brady iterated further.

Clearly, Belichick has a knack for showing tough love. But his tactics might be old for this current generation. As it happens, that recruiting phone call Brady was talking about has already happened and the former Pats HC already has a quarterback of his choice in place.

Bill Belichick has already started making splashes at Tar Heels

Turns out, this massive move by UNC has already started swaying athlete’s opinions. Four-star QB Bryce Baker was thinking of committing to Penn State, but Belichick convinced him to join the Tar Heels. Baker had a phone call with Belichick hours before his introductory press conference. From Baker’s comments, it looks like Belichick is trying to create an army of NFL-ready college QBs. But what’s Baker’s reason for joining Tar Heels?

“Their experience in the NFL is huge,” Baker said. “They’ve been on the level that I’m trying to get to. I feel like that separates them from a lot of other schools. They want to develop me, and they know the intricacies that will help me get to my goals. I feel like [Belichick] will bring in the right pieces to build around me. They’re going to make me a priority.”

Baker was a two-year starter at East Forsyth High School totaling 3,099 passing yards and 36 touchdowns to four interceptions with another six rushing scores in his senior season this fall, leading the program to a 13-1 finish. His relationship with Belichick is based on trust that the 6x Super Bowl-winning coach will “develop” him for the right opportunity.

“He was very poised and very knowledgeable. He had long answers explaining the terminology,” Baker said. “They’re going to be bringing in more top guys. They’re going to go after the best coaches. And they’re going to get more disciplined on and off the field.”

Belichick intends to install a “pro program” in NC since and might have to look for more players to build his college football avengers. The coach is set to start with UNC in 2025, bringing in a new era of Chapel Bill.
