Bill Belichick has already written his name in the NFL folklore with 6 Super Bowl titles as the coach of the Patriots. But it seems like the legendary Patriots manager isn’t done yet, as he could be moving to college football soon. However, his partner in crime, Tom Brady, thinks otherwise.

Sitting in the FOX studio accompanied by former Patriots teammates Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski. Brady doesn’t seem to have a positive outlook on the rumors swirling around Belichick taking the role of UNC head coach. His instant answer was a straightforward “No.” Then, the seven-time Super Bowl champion went on to add his thoughts behind it: “There’s a lot of things he can do, and obviously he’s tremendous, and even showing his personality. But getting out there on the recruiting trail and dealing with all these college kids.”

While Brady expressed his thoughts loud and clear, the three former Patriots had a good laugh at the question. Gronk added, “Can you imagine NIL,” while Edelman chimed to say, “Could you imagine Bill on a couch, recruiting.” Well, even mocked an impression out of Belichick if he does accept the job and goes into recruiting, “Listen, you really wanna come here. I mean don’t really want ya anyway. But I guess you could come. We’ll figure out if you’ll play.”

Belichick’s former players don’t seem to entertain the idea of him moving to Chapel Hill. However, his longtime friend Nick Saban believes Belichick could make the switch to college football. Sharing his thoughts on the Pat McAfee Show, Saban expressed, “Bill’s an outstanding coach. He’s very well organized. He’s a good teacher. I think he relates well with the players. I think he would do a great job in college.” But it seems like Belichick has a point to prove by moving into college football with a job at UNC. He probably wants to escape the shadow of Tom Brady by making a name for himself in CFB.

Although Tom Brady receives the majority of praise for what he has achieved in the NFL, it wouldn’t have been possible with Belichick as his coach. No matter how talented or gifted you are with natural skills, you need someone to offer guidance along the way. And Belichick always played that role until the two were together in New England. But the legendary head coach probably wants to prove himself outside of Tom Brady’s influence on the team. As per ESPN’s Chicago reporter Peggy Kusinki she believes Belichick wants to “prove his coaching legacy at the college level without Tom Brady’s shadow over him.”

Well, Belichick moving to college football isn’t just rumors. Creditable reporters like Inside Carolina’s Grant Hughes were the first ones to break that Belichick had a meeting with the UNC. Then, CBS Sports Jonathan Jones also added that the former Patriots coach had a second meeting. Even NFL insiders like Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport think Belichick is seriously considering a move to the UNC. And to bring more twist into the story, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler had an interesting angle.

He thinks that Belichick accepting a role would mean his son Steve, who currently serves as DC of the Washington Huskies, might join him in North Carolina. This will be massive if Belichick does end up taking the role of a college football coach in the coming weeks. Because they just fired their head coach, Mack Brown, and have a vacant position to offer the legendary NFL coach.
