Tom Brady and his legendary team of the 2000s and 2010s are remembered by many for their sheer dominance over two decades. Although the Patriots are now merely a pale shadow of their former selves, fans often recall those memories fondly. Adding to the enigma of those moments are anecdotes shared by the teammates of Tom Brady, who played alongside him to dominate the NFL.
Matthew Slater and Julian Edelman of the New England Patriots were invited to the Games with Nam podcast. In the video uploaded on March 27th, the former teammate of the Patriots narrated an anecdote from their playing days and revealed how Tom Brady was hated by the latter’s teammates.

The revelations come as a surprise given the success the New England Patriots achieved with and under Tom Brady’s leadership. Slater said, “Ask all 53 guys on the roaster, 52 guys, and they would say they hated him, right.” However, Slater’s comments are merely on a lighter note, as the former members of the iconic team would fight each other playfully during the training sessions.
Slater also revealed that only WR Julian Edelman dared to stand up to Tom Brady and repel the former’s dominance. He said, “Sometimes he did something goofy, we’re like, “It’s Tom, I can’t say anything. This guy will be over there getting on Tom, killing them in front of the guys and we’re all like trying to muffle our laughs.”
It was then that Tom Brady would get riled up and flustered. The anecdotes shared by Slater and Edelman bring back memories from the golden age of the New England Patriots when they went on a record spree to register six Super Bowl victories. This phase is so iconic that it is being televised using a new documentary.

The episode started with the AFC Championship final game between the Chiefs and the Patriots.
