Since hanging up his cleats in 2022, Tom Brady has found himself transitioning into a broadcaster with Fox Sports Network. However, the seven-time Super Bowl Champion may have found yet another way of making millions from his NFL days. This time, he has something for the fans who are interested in collecting rare items.
Yes, you guessed that right, Tom Brady is gearing up to head Sotheby’s auction titled “The Goat Collection” this December. Sharing us a sneak peek from this upcoming auction, Brady posted an Instagram reel in collaboration with Sotheby, where he shared, “I’ve been so fortunate to have such an amazing journey in my career, and these watches and collectibles really capture those unforgettable moments and all the hard work behind them.”

Well, the highest-valued item that will be going under the hammer on December 10th is Brady’s custom-made Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. It would be valued at around $400,000-$800,000. But what makes this watch special? If you look closely, that watch has a blue seven in Roman numerals engraved, referencing the Super Bowls he won. Wait, do you think that’s the only special item hitting the Sotheby’s auction? If so, you might be mistaken, as Brady brought out his last Michigan Wolverines jersey, he wore during the Orange Bowl win over Alabama.
It might be the second-most valued item that collectors could get their hands upon at a projected value of $300,000 to $500,000. Considering the career he had in the NFL, the Goat has more to offer. The play card wristband he wore to pull off the historic comeback in Super Bowl LI finds itself on the list valued at $120,000-$180,000. Well, the former Patriots QB is equally excited about giving fans a chance to own his items, “I’m excited to give fans a collectors a chance to own and cherish these special pieces from my journey just like I have.”
So, if you are a Brady fan or even a person who loves to collect rare items. This might be your chance to add those to your collection. However, Brady is not the only one who has recently cashed in on his items at Sotheby’s auction.

Michael Jordan sets a benchmark in Sotheby’s Auction
Although Brady is taking his first steps in the world of sports memorabilia, someone has already conquered those ranks. Yes, we are talking about NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. His six Air Jordan sneakers were sold for around $8 million earlier this year. All of those six that Jordan offered in the auction were from his NBA championship-winning days with the Chicago Bulls.
After the auction, Sotheby’s head of modern collectibles, Brahm Wachter, said, “Today’s record-breaking price is a testament to the Goat. The Dynasty Collection undeniably ranks among the most significant compilations of sports memorabilia in history. Serving as both a reminder of Michael Jordan’s lasting impact on the world and a tangible expression of his recognized legendary status.” Even Jordan’s 1998 NBA Finals Game 1 jersey was sold at Sotheby’s auction two years prior to this. That was a record in itself, as the item was purchased for $10.1 million, which is still the highest for any game-worn jersey.

Will Brady be able to achieve Jordan’s numbers in this upcoming auction? Well, seeing his past record with memorabilia where “One of One” of Brady’s collection was sold for just $2,200. It might be difficult for Brady to reach anywhere close to the NBA legend. But we can’t rule out the seven-time Super Bowl champion, can we? Guess we will soon find out at the end of this year.
