‘The Dynasty’, an Apple TV+ original, made sweeping waves before it even premiered. The show is set to dish out the key ingredients in the making and breaking of one of the greatest franchises in the history of the NFL: the New England Patriots. The show, based on Jeff Benedict’s book of the same name, extensively highlights how thick the tension between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady had gotten after a companionship of 20 years.

Tom Brady made one thing about the conclusion of his decades-long relationship clear: One of the primary reasons for Brady leaving the Patriots was Bill Belichick, per the Athletic. Per the same reports, Belichick didn’t offer the $50 million, two-year contract Brady wanted. This wasn’t congruous with the stability he sought for his last two years in the league. The fact was openly criticized by many, with one of the most popular critics being the ex-wife of Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen. The statements etched itself as one of the most iconic statements of the 2022 years, as she thrashed Belichick publically.

“She also pointed out how ridiculous it was that after all these years, Belichick still treated Brady like ‘f—–g Johnny Foxboro.’ It was bad enough to never voice approval. It was bulls–t to still be dressing down the most accomplished quarterback in league history during team meetings and treating his personal trainer and best friend like some kind of outcast,” stated Benedict’s book.

Even though Brady confessed, “Based on how things had gone, I wasn’t going to sign up for more of it,” even in the interviews he gives today, he makes sure to defend his former head coach each time questions are raised against him.
