How wonderful it must be to be Tom Brady. The retired NFL superstar is loving his retirement life. Unlike most, his retirement has not taken him too far away from the field. Or slowed down his frantic pace. Brady is now an NFL team co-owner, the highest-paid sports announcer, and a partner in several business ventures.

But despite being involved in multiple billion-dollar businesses, he still seems to have plenty of time to connect with his fans and share life updates. On Jan 13, he took to Instagram to share an amazing update from one of his ventures.

Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA’s big reveal

One of Tom Brady’s business deals is a partnership with car rental giant Hertz that began in 2021. The Fortune 500 firm is valued at over $1.1 billion. With a deep interest in racing, Hertz is continuing its sponsorship of Team JOTA in the upcoming FIA WEC. Tom’s brand, BRADY™ is the official apparel partner for Hertz Team JOTA. So it was quite apt that he shared an update via his Instagram stories showing off their newly unveiled livery for the 2025 season. 

The update showed off the stunning black-and-gold colors of the new Cadillac V-Series.R cars they’ll feature this year. It was held at Cadillac City, the brand’s flagship EV store and experience center in Paris. The new cars will debut on the track next month at the WEC Prologue and Qatar 1812K.

Hertz had previously sponsored other racing series globally, from NASCAR stock cars to WRC rally cars and MotoGP bikes. Its partnership with Tom Brady goes beyond apparel. The NFL legend has been a vocal and effective brand ambassador for its eco-friendly EV-focused marketing campaigns.

Meanwhile, another of Tom’s business ventures has seen a less ‘friendly’ version of him come to the fore.

Tom Brady gets down to business at the Raiders

The seven-time Super Bowl champion became a 5% owner of the Las Vegas Raiders last October. Since then, reports suggest that his influence in the organization has grown considerably larger than that number suggests. Reputed journalists, such as Diana Russini of The Athletic had confirmed his hand in the exits of HC Antonio Pierce and GM Tom Telesco. Of course, their 4-13 record this season had a part to play.

The Raiders are now said to be pursuing Lions OC Ben Johnson as Pierce’s replacement. Another decision influenced and aided by Brady. Johnson is in high demand, with other NFL teams such as the Bears and the Cowboys pursuing the same idea. But the influence that one of the greatest to ever do it in the NFL wields might tilt things in favor of the Raiders.

One certain thing is, just like the latest reveal from Team JOTA, the Raiders will have a new look next season. From one billionaire organization to the next, Brady’s influence seems to facilitate change at the moment. Whether it’s always for the better remains to be seen.
