Not many people know that Tom Brady much before he became THE TOM BRADY, faced the camera at the mere age of 6. The young wide-eyed and innocent Brady still was way away from deciding his career path when he was exposed to a reporter’s query. Even though at that mere age, he failed to answer clearly the question put forward, the legend has left no stone unturned in the later half of his life.

So much so that, Brady still continues to be associated with the sport after the retirement and now as a broadcaster. This long journey played an important part in what Brady is today.

Young Tom Brady’s innocent response

In a video clip dating back to 1984, a six-year-old Brady is seen standing in front of a baseball pitch. Credit goes to the YouTube Channel ‘NFL Films’ that underwent hunting through the archives 40 years back. The jolly little Brady in the video is seen facing the reporter’s question about what makes a good player. Too young to be enlightened about the question asked, with innocence and being confused, he replied, “I don’t know”

As the camera pans away, the voiceover commentary reflects upon how it is still difficult for the adults who are in close association with the sport to answer that question. The commentary revealed, “Tom Brady knew as much then as experts will tell you now.” Indeed, it’s hard to predict what makes a good NFL player, after all the entire league could not see the immensity of Brady’s talent at the NFL draft 2000. From having no clue about the football sport to acquiring the title of NFL GOAT, Brady has come a long way.

Brady’s journey to becoming a football star

Born as Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. on August 3, 1977, he developed a passion for football from a young age. While attending the San Francisco 49ers game with his family, he channeled his sports enthusiasm for football. As he grew up, the legendary quarterbacks like Joe Montana and Steve Young have had a notable impact on the young Brady.

His first experience on the field began at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo where he took part in organized football as a freshman. But gradually he amassed enough accolades that he earned the designation of starting quarterback. During his high school career, Brady demonstrated his skills with 236 completions out of 447 passes for 3,702 yards. His hustle continued until the 2000 NFL Draft when the quarterback was selected as the 199th overall pick by the New England Patriots

Ever since then, Tom Brady’s ties with the sport are still going strong. Overcoming obstacles and defying expectations, the TB12 has risen to prominence as one of the greatest quarterbacks that the league has produced in the near history. His journey from the young Brady who had no clue about the game to multiple Super Bowl victories is an inspirational voyage in every sense.
