NFL’s Greatest of All Time rocking the Greatest of All Time pieces. Naturally, ditching a $189,000 signature timepiece was a tough task for Brady, especially when his ex-wife is a fan of the IWC collection too. However, it is an ultra-rare Cartier timepiece collection we’re talking about. Brady had to. Tom Brady’s visit to the streets of Spain might have gone unnoticed but the $ 57,500 worth of rarity on Brady’s wrist didn’t go unnoticed.

During the locker room meet-and-greet, the Cartier Crash sitting on Brady’s wrist stole the attention more. Surely, fans loved the ways Brady again became a part of the locker room with the Real Madrid players momentarily after his retirement. However, moment and again, the asymmetrical design in platinum seemed to shimmer in their eyes. It was only when Brady posted about it on his Instagram, did the fans got to know about the one-of-a-kind watch.

The celebrity-loved Cartier Crash was launched in 1967. The premium watchpiece boasts of being a personal favorite of legends like Elvis Persley. Thanks to Kanye West and Jay-Z, the timeless classic made its way back into the trend in 2023. Said to be inspired by a car accident, the piece is sold exclusively at the brand London’s boutique. Retailed to be at about $ 57,500, the first release of the model was sold for $1.65 million in 2022. Sure enough, Brady got his hand on one, looking at his exclusive and envious watch collection.

Tom Brady’s fine timepiece collection

Even though Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are divided by divorce, their taste in luxury things stands united. IWC Portofino, a brand that joined hands with Gisele Bundchen in 2022, also joined hands with Tom Brady in 2019 when he took over the duties of their brand ambassador. While IWC made Brady the ambassador for their classic models, the timepiece giant gave his ex-wife Bundchen the role to introduce Portofino to the world earlier this year.

The story of Brady and IWC, however, dates farther back than that. “It wasn’t until I won my first Super Bowl, in 2002, that I finally got the watch I wanted. After that win, I had a few bucks in my pocket and I went to Tourneau on 57th [Street in New York] and walked out with an IWC,” Brady confessed to Hodinkee. “I may be an ambassador now, but for the longest time I was just a fan of the brand,” Brady later added.

Although Tom Brady’s watch collection is bejeweled with only the most tasteful creations of Audemars Piguet and Tag Heuer, the ones from IWC shine the brightest in Brady’s collection. Like the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School worth $8,950, or the Lake Tahoe worth $10,700, or Perpetual Calendar Mojave Desert worth $40,000 US, and how can we forget the Portugieser Tourbillon Hand Wound Squelette worth $100,000. To this, Brady now adds a timeless, rare timepiece from Cartier.
