Colin Kaepernick, the former QB for the San Francisco 49ers, is in a whirlpool of controversies. The 35-year-old athlete has been in the news lately for trying to make a comeback to the NFL after a complicated exit. He was released from the 49ers in 2016 on grounds of political disobedience and has been a free agent ever since. Recently, a renowned sports analyst commented on his appeal to come back to the NFL.

Kaep had written a letter to the New York Jets as an appeal to let him replace the veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, who got injured in a match against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, the Jets were quick to deny him his request and chose to bank on their QB Zach Wilson to replace A-Rod. Even after he was subjected to public humiliation, he continues to be a trending topic as his career lies in the balance. What does Stephen A. Smith have to say about him?

On October 6, 2023, Stephen A. Smith was a guest on the popular show, ‘Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM.’ The hosts of the show asked Smith about his thoughts on the Kaepernick situation and he had very firm words to say about the QB. He said, “You go back and look at the tapes I said the world is watching. You want to play ball, you show up to the workout because now we know where it’s going to be we know when it’s going to be, we going to get the tape.”

His statement comes in response to the workout that the NFL hosted for Kaepernick to come and showcase his talents. Smith also commented on the second chance Kaepernick was given a couple of years after his release. He commented that 26 teams were witness to see him perform but unfortunately, Kaepernick refused to show up. The news came as shocking as he was fighting a lot to join an NFL team but when the opportunity presented itself, he was nowhere to be found.
