The city of New Orleans is studded with stars as Super Bowl LIX is just around the corner. The Chiefs are aiming for an unprecedented feat this year while the Eagles will be looking for their second world championship in New Orleans. But as the talk of the Super Bowl and the state of Louisiana comes in, who can forget the Louisiana state legend, Terry Bradshaw

Well, not a surprise, but the 76-year-old Bradshaw has received a special honor from Tulane University: ‘Terry Bradshaw Day’. The fact is, he won his first Super Bowl at this stadium 50 years ago. But while receiving the honor, he embarrassed everyone on the stage with some self-deprecation. The broadcaster said, “This is the only way I could get on this campus, if someone had to give me an award. Because my GPA isn’t quite what it should be.” Bradshaw’s take was so unexpected and hilarious that everyone in the audience laughed at it.

City of New Orleans honored Terry Bradshaw

“You don’t get honors at 76. Who am I kidding? For Tulane and the city of New Orleans to do this, I don’t take this lightly.” Terry Bradshaw said this in his speech in New Orleans. The 76-year-old also didn’t forget to add, “This really touches me, and the fact that I don’t feel like I deserve this, it’s a little humbling, for sure.” The Fox broadcaster has also said, “I hope it’s not my last,” as he will be broadcasting at FOX this year also. That is why he said, “This is where it all started for me. This is where you build your reputation.”

Bradshaw is from Louisiana state and that’s why when fans appeared for this honor in the Steelers’ jersey, he couldn’t hold back his feelings. The four-time Super Bowl champion said, “I do love this state so much. I always felt like you should be proud of where you’re from, and I certainly am.” The football legend has also played his college football at Louisiana Tech University, which was the turning point in his career. And how much do you think the Hall of Famer is grateful to his college? Bradshaw donated four Super Bowl rings, a College Football Hall of Fame ring, a Pro Football Hall of Fame ring, a Hall of Fame bust, four miniature replica Super Bowl trophies, a helmet, and a jersey from one of his Super Bowl victories to Louisiana State University.
