When you hear the name Terry Bradshaw, what do you imagine? Well, it’s easy to picture him lifting a Super Bowl trophy with that signature grin. But surprise surprise! Football isn’t the only thing on his resume. Yeah, he’s also had a solid run, rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the biz. Yet, as legendary as his career has been, there’s one decision that still makes him go, Man, I wish I’d done that.”

In a recent chat, Bradshaw spilled the tea on how he turned down a role alongside none other than Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Yep, The Game Plan—that wholesome Disney flick about a football star learning to be a dad. Turns out, Bradshaw was almost in it. His role? A football coach (shocker, right?). But his manager stepped in, warning him that the role might stick him in a football-typecast rut. So Bradshaw passed on it. I wish I would have done it just to work with him, he confessed, with that good ol’ Bradshaw charm we all love. Imagine the two of them—Terry and The Rock—together. Wild, right?

This wasn’t just a casual brush-off either. Bradshaw wanted to do it. Bradshaw admires Rock for his charisma and insane work ethic. It’s one of those classic Aww man, what if moments. Who knows, maybe their chemistry could’ve taken the movie to a whole new level. Not that the $147 million box office haul wasn’t enough. But a person can still dream, right?

While turning down The Game Plan was a tough call, Bradshaw’s acting career is anything but typical. Sure, there were highs, like voicing a character in the animated film Robots (2005)—his highest-rated movie at 64% on Rotten Tomatoes. Then there were some lows, like Father Figures (2017), which didn’t fare too well with its 17% score. But hey! He’s never been afraid to take risks. Whether it’s acting or football, Bradshaw goes all in. And we love him for that, no doubt!

Bradshaw’s Acting Career

Don’t get it twisted! Bradshaw didn’t exactly sit at home feeling sorry for himself after passing up The Game Plan. And you might remember him teaming up with Burt Reynolds in Hooper (1978) and The Cannonball Run (1981). These action-comedy flicks were classics, and Bradshaw still gushes about working with Reynolds. He’d see that buckle of yours and you wouldn’t be able to ask him any question without him asking you a thousand,Bradshaw said, clearly admiring Reynolds’ down-to-earth vibe. If there’s one thing Bradshaw loved, it was the bromance they shared.

Oh, and we can’t forget his on-screen kiss with Oscar-winner Kathy Bates in Misery. Bradshaw still jokes about how their kissing scene kept going even after the director yelled cut. She kisses good, he said, with a cheeky grin.

Bradshaw’s not just a guy who wears many hats. Nope! He wears them damn well. He’s dabbled in motivational speaking and written books. Not to forget- he even spent decades on TV as a sports commentator. And even when something doesn’t pan out like he hoped? He’s always got a smile on his face and a story to tell. That’s his beauty- always willing to laugh at himself and learn from his experiences.

Bradshaw might indeed regret turning down The Game Plan. But let’s be real! He’s still killing it in both the sports world and Hollywood. His laid-back, no-regrets attitude is what’s made him such a legend. And you never know! Maybe someday we’ll get that Bradshaw-Rock team we never knew we needed. Until then, Bradshaw’s legacy is secure, filled with Super Bowl rings, movie roles, and plenty of unforgettable moments. Both on and off the field!
