As the NFL season draws closer, fans are excited to see Tom Brady calling his first game as Fox’s lead game analyst. And while there are differences of opinion about his new role, former NFL veterans Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson join forces on X on their Nightcap episode to boost the NFL GOAT’s confidence. According to what retired Pro Bowl QB Chad Johnson said, “Tommy taking the meat potatoes of the money that’s available for the broadcasters but if I know Tom Brady and understand how he is when it comes to the game of football, I’m sure he’s going to do a phenomenal job as well.

As Tom Brady enters as the premier NFL analyst for Fox with a 10-year, $375 million contract, Greg Olsen will transition to the network’s No. 2 NFL team. This move reduced salary, as Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post reported. Olsen’s salary will drop from $10 million to a shocking $3 million, a stark $7 million decrease. After replacing Olsen’s role, will Brady counter his losses with an outstanding performance? 

Tom Brady receives support from Drew Brees

Tom Brady waited one and a half years after retirement to pursue his new broadcasting career, a move lauded by fellow NFL player-turned-analyst Drew Brees. He said on the Dan Patrick Show on Friday, “I think he did it right by taking a year off. Sometimes I wish I would’ve done that. I jumped right into the booth.” The Super Bowl champion played in the NFL for 20 seasons before retiring to take an immediate broadcasting job as the color analyst for NBC Sports. 

As for his vision of Tom Brady as an analyst, he said, “I think he’s going to do a great job. I think he’s spent a lot of time studying some of the greats in the business, and we’ll see. But obviously he has the wealth of knowledge and experience to share.” Brady spent 23 years in the NFL, accumulating seven unrivaled Super Bowl rings. He’s phenomenal in the field.
