Recency Bias is a psychological phenomenon, implying the tendency to dwell on recent experiences when surmising future events. And the leading team of the NFC division is a victim of it, as per Colin Cowherd. On his show, Cowherd played his cards justifiably when he put forward the riveting fact.
“This idea, recency bias, standalone big games that Philadelphia is no good is insane,” compelled Cowherd. With two losses and a ton of impressive games in week 14 of the NFL season, the Eagles are putting up a Super Bowl revenge-worthy performance. While they did face a minor setback when they lost their last game to the 49ers, it is not a thing to fuss over, as Cowherd believes “They had a bad weekend, it was that.” ‘The Herd’  host has his fair share of instances from the pages of history for it.

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes at Cowherd’s gunpoint

As the Eagles are rehearsing the mishap to make an even stronger possibility of clinching a spot in the playoffs, Cowherd is bringing up instances to support their chances of standing in the Super Bowl. “What happened to Philadelphia has been happening for the last several years,” asserted he.
Flipping through the pages of the NFL history, Cowherd’s primary focus was the Buccs QB Tom Brady. Mentioning the 2020 season, which turned ever so slightly formidable when their arch-rivals, the Saints hammered them twice during the regular season. Yet, the team was crowned the Super Bowl champion in the same season.
In 2022, the Los Angeles Rams were thrashed twice, in a similar fashion, by the 49ers, before steadily climbing their way to the Super Bowl ring after 22 years. Considered the best QB playing in the league, Patrick Mahomes and Co. were brutally defeated by two of their arch-nemesis, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, dropping their almost pristine score to 14-3. As the story goes, Mahomes led his team to a victory against the Eagles.
The only difference, this time around, Eagles are after the Super Bowl, like death and taxes. Cowherd showing agreement about this being a petty setback displays his confidence in the team. “Philadelphia is fine. They’re the number one seed in the NFC they have absolutely nothing to worry about.”
