Skip Bayless is known as a controversial figure in the world of sports commentary. The 71-year-old has never shied away from brutally calling out teams and their players. But it seems as if he went the distance by calling out some of the most legendary athletes of our generation.

Tom Brady, the NFL legend, was called out by Bayless when it came to the matter of Antonio Brown. Yet, it wasn’t the last straw as Bayless took a dig at the NBA’s one and only LeBron James after a poor performance. Bayless is definitely not a fan favorite among the sporting community, and his comments about the greats certainly won’t make him any more popular.

During Antonio Brown’s controversial exit, Brady came to his aid, advised the fans to be more compassionate with him, and hoped he would get all the help that he needed. Brady and Brown used to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers together and, thus, were good friends. But Bayless called Brady out and said, “But Brady kept enabling AB by giving him chance after chance when he needed to get help.

Bayless also called out the GOAT of basketball, LeBron James, when the Lakers were knocked out of the league by the Houston Rockets. He blamed the loss on Lebron but also criticized the entire team. Bayless said, “It wasn’t that LeBron played awful; it was just listless. It’s like nobody cared about anything last night from the jump.” But Brady and James aren’t the only two players Bayless has picked fights with.

Bayless and his fight with Shannon Sharpe

During the match between the Buffalo Bills and the Bengals, Mark Hamlin went into cardiac arrest. The situation was so severe that he had to be revived on the field itself. Following this situation, Bayless became public enemy number 1 when he tweeted, “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game—but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome, which suddenly seems so irrelevant.” This proved to the audience that Bayless only cared about the outcome of the league rather than a player’s life or death.

Following this controversial tweet, Shannon Sharpe appeared on the ‘Undisputed’ show and initially avoided talking about the incident. But when he got provoked by Bayless, the two got into a very tense argument that later shifted into an awkward segment. Sharpe and Bayless are known to have a strained relationship, but this scenario depicts how bad it was.

With all said and done, Bayless is definitely one of the disliked men in the field of sports. Whether it be the NBA or the NFL, Bayless is in a tough spot with teams and fans alike. But it doesn’t seem like the ongoing tirade against Bayless is going to affect him anytime soon.
