Have Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless decided to end their animosity? Have they buried their hatchet and are actually friends in real life? Yes, it might be true after all, given the recent views the duo have shared with one another. Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless were the distinguished hosts on the “Undisputed” talk show.

It was a successful run for over 7 years until things turned sour earlier this year. Back in 2016, the show gathered significant media coverage with two gigantic personalities coming together for the show. Bayless, without a doubt, was the main vision and inspiration behind the show. With a noticeable timeline of being together, there were some on-field confrontations that split the duo. But burying the hatchet, Shannon has shown deep admiration and appreciation for his former talk show host.

Shannon and Skip admire each other’s work

Earlier in September this year, Shannon shared his true opinions on Skip Bayless. As part of his show- “Club Shay Shay” and speaking to Stephen A. Smith, shared his admiration for Bayless. The NFL HOF revealed that there’s some form of friendship that needs to go for a long-running show. Referring to the “Undisputed” show, Sharpe went on to highlight the equation with Bayless. He said, “I cannot let six months ruin six and a half good years, Because sometimes people are willing to throw everything away for one mistake or one bad comment.”

After these wholesome comments and trying to solve the issue, even Bayless returned the favor. Skip went on to lavish praise on his former host. “I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my man Shannon Sharpe could not have done it without you. Shannon Sharpe has been a godsend for me, very different from Stephen A as you might know from watching both shows. Shannon Sharpe works his tail off to compete with me every single day. The highest compliment I can pay Shannon Sharpe is he holds his own with me, he is a daily challenge for me and I love him for that.” There’s no bad blood between the two enigmatic personalities, however, there was something that led to the fallout.

Shannon recounts the disrespect handed to him by Bayless

After hosting six years together for the “Undisputed”, things went wayward in the 7th year. Shannon went candid about the exact moment that led to the bitterness against Skip Bayless. The former TE revisited an incident that took place in 2022. It was during a discussion on Tom Brady, that got serious ultimately turning into a heated exchange. The heated debate almost led Shannon putting hands on Bayless.

Skip got personal and went on to compare Brady with Sharpe. Bayless suggested that Brady was still playing at the highest level at 45 years, while Shannon called it a day at 35. Bayless, as passionate as he is, got serious and even added that the former QB was way better than the TE ever could be! These comments stifled Sharpe who was quite hurt by Bayless’ remarks. It led to Sharpe losing all respect for the revered co-host and walking out of the show.

Whatever the story, it’s good to see that the two hosts still hold mutual admiration. Hopefully, their little friendship grows manifolds and we can see them together on another talk show.
