Former Washington Commanders No. 21 safety Sean Taylor is one of the examples of talented people who died young. He was just 24, spending time with his wife and baby Jackie when he was murdered at his home in 2007. Fast-forward to 2023, the Washington Commanders 90 Greatest player is still held close to the hearts of loved ones and is still considered one of the greatest safeties to have played in the NFL.

Recently, a former teammate and friend broke the silence about Sean Taylor, holding him as the best yet. In a recent Twitter upload, Inside the NFL tagged Ryan Clark on his video that showed him paying respect to his former friend and Commanders teammate. And for the Pro Bowl champion, Sean Taylor remains the greatest in his eyes. He said, “And even 16 years later, you’re still the best that I, or they have ever seen.”

Ryan Clark began his tribute to Sean Taylor with how he received a call about his passing on November 27, 2007. As teammates at Washington for two seasons, Clark goes on to recount how it was Sean Taylor who gave him the right pep talk when he fell during his first practice with the Commanders. He quotes Taylor saying, “You gotta get up. If you don’t get up, you’ll never make the team.” The 44-year-old retired SB champion goes on to say that to this day, his son, Arizona State DB Jordan Clark carries a towel that has “RIP S” in memory of his beloved late uncle.
Sean Taylor was getting everything right in his life when Clark mentioned how baby Jackie changed his life. “You told me you have found your faith. And you were having the best year in your career,” Clark said. He also commented on his daughter Jackie who is keeping his legacy alive. Now baby Jackie Taylor has grown into a beautiful woman who is also a star volleyball player to play on scholarship at North Carolina.

Sean Taylor played eight games in 2007 with 42 tackles (32 solo) before his tragic end. In his four seasons of playing, he recorded 241 solos. The Commanders never forgot how much of an impact Sean Taylor made. They honored him in 2008 when they inducted him into the Ring of Honor. In 2021, they retired his No. 21. In 2022, they unveiled a memorial at FedEx Field.
