Colin Kaepernick, former QB for the San Fransisco 49ers, is in demand after the Falcons’ recent game. The 35-year-old athlete is a free agent since his release from the 49ers in 2016. Though it has been a long time, Kaepernick might be returning to the gridiron soon.

The fans have waited 7 long years for his comeback but haven’t been official since he was released from the 49ers on the grounds of controversial protests. Kaepernick sent a letter to the New York Jets when their veteran QB Aaron Rodgers got injured in his debut match against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately for him, the Mets openly denied his transfer plea and left him a free agent all over again. But in light of the recent match between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons, fans have been desperately demanding Kaepernick due to a certain QB’s severely poor performance.

On 10 September 2023, the Atlanta Falcons took on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a tense match. While the fans were expecting the Falcons to take the win, their QB Desmond Ridder’s performance cost them the match. Ridder portrayed one of the worst performances in his career this Sunday as he threw out two passes that got intercepted by the Jaguars’ players. The match kept getting worse for the Falcons, as Ridder did not help their case at all.

The Falcons lost to the Jaguars by a staggering score of 23-7 and the fans took to Twitter by a storm. While Ridder was heavily criticized, the pleas for Kaepernick’s return kept increasing as the fans talked about potential replacements for the QB. A user on Twitter wrote, Colin Kaepernick should write a letter to the Atlanta Falcons @espn @FirstTake.”

Another user funnily wrote, “I’m not interested in Colin Kaepernick playing again but let’s say he really is trying and he really is washed. Ain’t no way he worse than Desmond Ridder, ain’t nooo f****** way❗️”

This fan replied to the Atlanta Falcons’ post about the halftime score by saying, “is colin Kaepernick @Kaepernick7
still available? this is embarrassing. new QB plz.”

Another user asked the Falcons, @AtlantaFalcons Colin Kaepernick isn’t busy right now….What’s the worse that could happen ??

Finally, this user listed down several options of who the replacement QB can be by writing, “QB replacement options for Atlanta: 1.) Carson Wentz 2.) Colin Kaepernick 3.) Donald Glover 4.) Ludacris 5.) Chipper Jones Take ya pick.”

There’s no doubt about the fact that the Falcons’ fans are visibly upset, but what does this mean for Kaepernick’s future as he waits for a chance to be back again?

Recently, the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League announced that they have put Colin Kaepernick on their negotiation list. This certainly means well for Kaepernick, who’s been on a 7-year long hiatus, but the fans would be upset if he ends up switching from the NFL for good. The player has been immensely talented from the start but unfortunately; he lost his career because of his political stands.

He would take a knee on the field often in solidarity with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, which wasn’t appreciated by the NFL for involving politics in the sport. Thus, he was released from the 49ers for reasons of not fitting into the plans of the team, but the fans have long known what the controversy for his release has been. Fortunately, his return to the field as a QB doesn’t seem that far as Kaepernick continues to turn heads for the exceptional athlete he is yet has been exiled from the NFL because he chose to speak for what he believes in.
