“She Got More Money Than He Does”: Tom Brady’s Selfishness to Achieve Greatness Valued by Shannon Sharpe as Gilbert Arenas Disagrees

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are past their divorce. Brady’s reported romantic involvement with supermodel Irina Shayk is no secret, neither is Bundchen’s rumored interest in jiu-jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente. What they have not got past is the time they cherished, with all the ebbs and flows. One reason why they had to part ways in the first place is assumed to be Brady’s relentless dedication to his sports career.

It was in 2008 that Brady missed the first and the only game of his career since the Patriots drafted him in 2000, due to a torn ACL. Brady played through, or recovered from, every other injury in his career to play. While this was an accolade any player would do anything to have, it was not the most suitable one for a husband.

Shannon Sharpe highlights Tom Brady’s sacrifices

Gisele Bundchen waited for a good 7-8 years for her husband to spend time with her after he signed his retirement, something that Brady promised several times. Even after Victoria’s Secret angel hung up her wings for good, she made more income than her husband, a fact that Shannon Sharpe pointed out in his recent episode of ‘Nightcap’. “You got to realise she got more money than he does,” stated Sharpe. His guest, Gilbert Arena, came in with a, “My buddy selfish man!”

Sharpe was completely on the same page, just with a different perspective. “Yeah, you gotta be selfish to be great,” bluntly stated Sharpe. Brady was the perfect example Sharpe could get to prove his point. “The greater the person, the greater the sacrifices that they’ve made,” asserted Sharpe. Finishing his speech with a perfect “And there is no balance. Anybody tell you that they lying.” The sacrifices made by Brady are wide open to the world. Sacrificing time spent with loved ones is what it takes to reach the caliber of Brady.

Gilbert Arenas thinks Brady was privileged

Sharpe’s guest, on the other hand, were not on board with Sharpe’s views. The iconic basketball player was startled, and a tiny bit offended as Brady was getting the ‘white privilege’. “You telling me someone makes more money than me and I’m not gonna stop? I’m done,” yelped Arenas.

For Arena, the choice was simple. For Brady, it was not, but that was a few years back. Currently, Brady seems to be having the time of his life, catching up on all the missed parties and fun post-retirement.
