The 2021 ESPN+ docuseries ‘Man in the Arena,’ gave the fans a glance into the hardships the Brady family had to face because of their mother and brother fighting their battles at the same time. Speaking about how they got to know about their mom’s condition, the second-eldest sister of Tom Brady, Julie said. “She was going in for a little checkup, where they found out she had breast cancer, and she also got myeloma. The breast cancer she had to start getting treatment right away.”

Tom Brady’s sister Nancy also opened up about how they dealt with everything they had going on. “There was a lot of pain during that time. She probably internalized a lot of things,” Brady’s sister Nancy said. However, all of it came to a full circle when Brady won his fifth Super Bowl ring and their family shared a big hug. Brady said a tear-jerking line then, one that still gets his fans emotional. “We won the game, but my mom won, too. My family won, too,” Brady said while celebrating with his whole family in the NRG Stadium in Texas.
