The 34-year-old QB for the Kansas City Chiefs has been under the spotlight ever since the rumors of his alleged romance with global pop star Taylor Swift emerged.

The speculations began when Travis and his brother Jason Kelce were talking about Taylor Swift on their podcast, ‘New Heights.’ Travis talked about how he tried to shoot his shot with Swift at one of her concerts but couldn’t succeed because she wasn’t available. The episode immediately went viral, as the Swifties couldn’t stop talking about their potential romance. It didn’t take long for both of them to be global celebrities, as the NFL kept churning attention on their relationship.

Shannon Sharpe says that Swift is a lucky charm for Kelce

On the latest episode of the ‘Nightcap’ show with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, they talk about Travis Kelce’s performance in this season so far. Kelce and the Cheifs managed to upstage the Chargers on 23rd October by a staggering score of 31-17.  And it seems as if Kelce gives his best performance for the team when Swift is in the stands to cheer him on.

Sharpe says, “In the 4 games that Taylor Swift has attended, Travis Kelce has averaged 108 yards receiving per game. In the game she hasn’t attended, he’s averaged 47 yards. If I’m Travis Kelce, she’s coming to the games.” This is proof that Kelce’s performance has taken a massive surge due to the fact that Swift has been in attendance. But while they continue to be one of the NFL’s most influential couples, the fans haven’t been too happy with how the sport has been covering them constantly.

The fans’ disappointment with the NFL over Kelce-Swift

The world couldn’t be more excited about the pairing of Kelce and Swift as they continue to keep a routine check with their updates. But the fans of the sport seem to be upset with how much stress the NFL is laying on the couple. During the matches when Swift comes to a Chiefs’ match, the camera keeps panning to her every so often. The official NFL account on X even saw their banner change to a photo of Swift. Additionally, they changed their bio to ‘we had the best day with you today’ which is a lyric from a Taylor Swift song.

A fan said, “I’m the biggest swiftie there is but I’m also a genuine football fan and just want to watch the game.” It looked as if the NFL was more interested in the couple than they were in the sport. Even Travis took to his podcast and talked about how the NFL has been overdoing it with its constant coverage. The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Denver Broncos on 30 October and it will be interesting to see how the NFL brings about a change in match coverage.
