The current 2-9 record of the Patriots hardly resonates with the proud history the franchise boasts about. At the gunpoint for which is, of course, the head coach, Bill Belichick. But this is where the NFL community stands divided. Belichick has guided the team to multiple Super Bowls, but his fumbles after Brady left the team irk the critics. Mostly every known personality in the NFL has made their stance clear on this, including the Patriots’ former TE Rob Gronkowski.

Gronk has never been the one to shy away from his opinions. Since day 1, Gronk has clearly stayed true to his stance of Belichick being the perfect coach for New England. However, he also gave some thought to the possibility of Belichick leaving the Patriots, if things go spiraling downward, now that the team has built up a 4-loss streak.

Throughout his 9 seasons with the Patriots, Gronk has developed an understanding of Coach Belichick and his techniques like the back of his hand. Just like Brady. Hence, the two of them have picked up the same side, which is supporting Belichick in the tough stretch of his journey with the Patriots. Gronk has chipped in the controversy with his inputs time and again. This time around Gronk has some information, or a belief rather, that might be useful for the people from the other side of the debate.

On the latest episode of Up and Adams, Gronk was clear on Belichick not leaving the Patriots anywhere in the near future. Even if he thought so, hypothetically, it would only be through the way he mentioned. “The only way I would say that he would coach somewhere else is if it a mutually agreed upon, between both parties,” commented Rob Gronkowski. Following this, Gronk also expressed a thought similar to Brady’s when he made his stance clear in favor of Belichick. “Just give him some time and we’ll see what happens from here.”

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Belichick’s contract was extended secretly, accounting for it to be ‘one of the most closely held secrets in New England’. Moreover, as per the rumors, his annual salary might also be hiked to $20 million. Despite the uncertainty around Belichick’s contract, one thing is clear as daylight, Patriots owner Robert Kraft will not be firing Bill Belichick any soon. As Brady and Gronk believe, the records will be fine after some time, which in actuality, only time will tell.
