“I’ll be there in about two hours,” was like music to mom Diane Walters’ ears. After 13 long years, her Tampa Bay house was finally starting to feel like home again. When Rob Gronkowski left for college some 2,000 miles away at University of Arizona in 2007, the Gronks’ living room almost grew silent. Gronkowski’s three older brothers had already moved out with dreams of their own. The youngest sibling would do the same four years later. For a while, though, Diane enjoyed the peace and quiet more than she let on. Managing five athletes under the same roof had never been easy. For years, the mother would wake up at 4 am, take her boys to practice, and also complete household chores—including shopping for 40 pounds of chicken breast every week(!) and tackling the never-ending laundry pile complete with mud, blood, and budding dreams. However, Diane soon realized that life’s pleasantries were often in the chaos…
As four of her sons made it to the NFL, and one took his talents to baseball, a restlessness hit her. She felt lonely. It didn’t help that after Gronk started chasing glory with the New England Patriots, his home visits trickled down to a bare minimum. Thankfully, all of that changed in 2020. While Tom Brady is mostly known as the inspiration behind the veteran tight end’s move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Diane Walters came in as a very close second. “Tom was the appetizer, and there were a few other reasons–I love the weather. But the main reason I came…to Tampa was because my mother lives two hours away…Whenever I have days off, she’s two hours down the street and I get to see her. She’s super excited,” the 4x Super Bowl champ told Ellen five years ago.
So, for the next year, Gronkowski made sure to capitalize on the closeness. After every game, no matter how tired, the son would travel to his mom’s house—who had moved from Buffalo to Fort Myers, Florida, some seven years prior. “If it was an away game, then he came here the next day. He’d stay overnight, have a real good meal, get a good night’s sleep, and then we’d have breakfast and he’d head back in the morning,” Diane had revealed to ESPN. After nearly a decade at Foxborough, Tampa Bay had finally become home for the tight end. And that’s a relationship he never forgets to acknowledge…

On March 24, the City of Tampa administration opened applications for the Homeowner Disaster Relief Program to help people affected by the 2024 hurricanes. The city has announced to allocate $3.2 million to help homeowners. Gronk, as expected, stepped up to do his bit and also donated $315,000 to the Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund. “Donating some big checks today- that’s what it’s all about,” the caption to the post read.
The TE looked happy as we donated the money to the Pinellas Community Foundation. That would definitely help many people to get back to normal life. It’s nothing else than love for the city that drove him to help the people. He’s publicly stated multiple times that if he were to consider returning to the NFL, it’s definitely be with the Bucs. What’s more? Despite his one-year association with the team (and the city), the 35-year-old even doubled down on his commitment with a 4,781-square-foot, $1.6 million mansion in South Tampa, making it his second home.
Notably, the Gronkowski family has always been one to give back to the community. In March 2023, the whole family came together to donate $15,000 each to Girls on the Run (Southwest Florida at the Clam Bake in Fort Myers), Gig’s Playhouse, and The Fort Myers Police Athletic League (PAL). In fact, during the 2018 Super Bowl, she also volunteered at Atlanta Mission, one of the largest soup kitchens in the country.
As for the Hurricane donations, to make sure that people receive adequate assistance, the administration has also classified the funds into 3 parts.
- Insurance Deductible Assistance (up to $10,000)
- Mortgage Assistance (up to $5,000)
- Cost of Repair Assistance (up to $20,000)
The people can apply for all 3 grants. But the city has set the maximum reimbursement at $20,000.

Having said that, not only is Gronk helping out the community, but also extending a helping hand for a fellow tight end…
Rob Gronkowski gives baby advice
The Gronk spike was popular in the NFL before the Kelce run took its place. In fact, as the Patriots legend neared the end of his career, the Chiefs’ tight end took off. But Travis Kelce is popular for one more aspect of his life. His superstar GF Taylor Swift! She is a phenomenon.
With a slow offseason ahead of us, fans are buzzing with the possibility of the couple taking their next step. Even Rob Gronkowski couldn’t stop himself from discussing this on Dudes on Dudes podcast with Julian Edelman. They playfully discussed the possibility of Kelce and Swift having a baby. Gronk even urged them to take the next step and said, “They need to.” That’s fine. We can understand his desire like the millions of other fans. But his imagination went into overdrive.

He then jumped directly into predicting the kid’s future after 3 decades and added, “Would the kid be performing, having eight catches a game, and then, like halftime, he’s doing the halftime show… in like 24 years?
Well, that’s a creative way to look at it. What do you think?
