It’s a sad day for the Los Angeles Rams community as they lose one of their own. Coming out as an elite player from NC State, Roman Gabriel left his trail in LA as a No. 2 pick, where he eventually struggled with a 19-17-1 record in the first five years. But in 1967, he became worthy of the initial hype when he led the Rama to an 11-1-2 record with 2,779 yards, 25 TDs, and 13 interceptions.

Gabriel won the NFL MVP in 1969, leading his team to an 11-3 record. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989. His college also exalted him into the inaugural NC State Athletic Hall of Fame class in 2012. After retiring in 1978, he has come to the end of his life’s journey in 2024.
