“The Road Wrestlemania.” Pat McAfee’s wife, Samantha, wrote on her Instagram story showing off the vast deserts of Nevada from her plane’s window seat. As you can already guess, Samantha is off to Las Vegas with her husband. McAfee, who serves as the color commentator of WWE’s Raw franchise, will be covering WrestleMania 41 live. His Pat McAfee Show was already live from Vegas, giving WWE fans a preview of the enthralling weekend they are going to be blessed with. But McAfee’s larger-than-life personality isn’t the focus here. It’s his wife who had a blast on the Vegas Strip, winning big on her first night in the city that never sleeps.

For this weekend, Vegas might be going through WrestleMania fever. But something that has always made Vegas stand out from the rest of the US is its casinos. So, Samantha knew what she needed to do soon after landing in Sin City. Her first stop? Casino. One of Samantha’s Instagram stories showed her winning a jackpot. Her slot machine displayed “WINNER” and a prize of $2,625 as she wrote in her story, “Jackpot baybay.” It seems her luck was on point as she wreaked havoc on the casino floor. Later, she shared another story in which Samantha won big again.

This time, the slot machine showed “Big Win 3864” as Samantha wrote “Love a good big win” on her story. Besides showing us her incredible luck, Samantha also shared other things she enjoyed aside from those Jackpots. She shared some exotic foods and snapshots from the luxury restaurant she went to on her first night in Vegas. But among all those things, Samantha was blown away by the restrooms. She couldn’t help but admire the way those bathrooms in her restaurant were designed.

Showing us the incredible lavatory, Samantha wrote in her story, “A moment for how gorgeous this bathroom is.” Just imagine her Vegas night that started with embracing Jackpots—ended with applauding toilets. But hey! At least she came back a winner from those casinos. However, Samantha ain’t the only winner recently. Her husband, Pat McAfee, also seems to have received some good news in his ever-growing sports media personality.

Lee Corso’s retirement makes Pat McAfee an indispensable member of ESPN

Ever since Pat McAfee joined ESPN’s College GameDay in 2022, his dynamic energy and sports persona have redefined the program. Last year, GameDay averaged 2.2M viewers, the most in the show’s 38-year history. Despite the changing demographics, McAfee’s high-octane personality has helped GameDay especially capture those young college football fans. ESPN’s president of content, Burke Magnus, once told Front Office Sports, “I don’t know about galvanizing college students to show up in person for the show—the crowds seemed enormous across the board. But that’s hard to quantify. I would credit Pat and his appeal with the college-aged fan.”

What’s your perspective on:

With Corso retiring, can McAfee's charisma keep College GameDay's viewership soaring to new heights?

Have an interesting take?

Well, his importance to College GameDay is only going to grow bigger from this season. Now, with Lee Corso’s retirement after the first week of the 2025 season. McAfee is expected to become an even greater asset to College GameDay’s dominance in viewership. Before McAfee, it was Corso who used to amaze College football fans with his electric persona.

But since he will be gone soon, ESPN will hope McAfee can fill his shoes exquisitely. Even before Corso decided to retire, McAfee had already shown how vital he is to College GameDay. From blending in with college football fans with their unique traditions and chants to his field-goal kicking contest every GameDay. McAfee has undeniably changed the way GameDay used to program its show before he joined the team. So, without Corso GameDay might survive or even thrive as long as McAfee is there. However, if ESPN also loses him, then there could be problems.
