Travis Kelce stays winning, and not just on Sundays. While NFL stars make headlines on the field, the Chiefs‘ tight end has been making an impact where it truly matters. Through his Eighty-Seven & Running foundation, he’s been helping kids break barriers—whether it’s in STEM, the arts, or just giving them a shot at something bigger. And yeah, the man even got a Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nod for it.

But don’t just assume that he’s going to stop here. Nope. In fact, the talk of the street is that Kelce has purchased a $3.3M mansion in Kansas City to transform it into transitional housing for young homeless people. Yeah, you read that absolutely right. After the news hit the headlines, NFL legend Pat McAfee praised the TE for his grand gesture.

“Travis Kelsey Good person, good human donates 3.3 million dollars to a homeless facility. ATTA BABY, Trav,” McAfee said on his Pat McAfee Show on ThursdayBack in January this year, Kelce purchased that mansion in KC and later donated it to Foster Love, a nonprofit organization that aims to support children and young adults.

“Travis Kelce bought a $3.3 million home in Kansas City in 2024 to turn it into a temporary living facility for homeless youth,” the foundation shared the news on their Facebook handle in March. The mansion is a 6,500 square foot property, features six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and outdoor spaces like a garden, patio, and fire pit. Oh, it also includes a game room and study area, creating a supportive environment for residents.

Despite his stardom, the three-time Super Bowl winner, and arguably one of the best tight ends in the league, carries his charity work through his 87 & Running foundation. Kelce founded the charity back in 2015 in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. His main goal? Empowering underprivileged youth. “I love getting out here in the Kansas City community, they show up for each other so much, and they do it with so much pride,” Kelce said on his New Height Podcast back in December 2024.

And that’s the beauty of having that relationship with the community, is always to try and make a better world for the ones that support you on game day, man, or need that help and that support in the community.” Safe to say, Travis Kelce isn’t just handing over a house—the guy’s giving these kids and young adults a real shot at something better. No wonder Pat McAfee is in awe of him.

Travis Kelce’s grand gesture leaves Pat McAfee in wonder

As much as Travis Kelce is a problem for defenses on the field, off the field, the guy’s been just as relentless—except this time, it’s all about giving back. Through his Eighty-Seven & Running foundation, he’s been making real moves for the community. We’re talking backing NGOs like Boys & Girls Club of America, showing up for Read Across America Day, and even popping into Kansas City hospitals and schools to lift spirits.

And let’s be real—this isn’t just once-in-a-while thing for Kelce. Oh no. The 35-year-old TE has been doing this for years—say, just a couple of years after he made his NFL debut. And now that he recently invested $3.3 million in a Kansas City house to transform in into a living facility for young homeless people, no wonder Pat McAfee is nothing but praising him. “I love this type of stuff, you know. Obviously, a lot of negative gets covered around the NFL and around professional athletics because negativity will hog some publicity,” McAfee said.

“And obviously the conversation around Travis Kelce is that he is the GOAT at the tight end position, obviously very successful at football. But there are people who just naturally hate him because he’s very popular, very famous, especially now because he’s dating the most popular and famous person on earth in Taylor Swift. So, him giving back, making the world a better place, I think should be chatted about.”

At the end of the day, Travis Kelce isn’t just making moves on the field. When it comes to his off-field venture, especially about his charity work, the guy just doesn’t talk the talk. And that’s exactly why McAfee and so many others are tipping their hats to him. Rings and records are cool, but changing lives? That’s next-level.
