Pat McAfee is coming up with another exciting adventure in his life. Although after playing NFL for eight seasons, McAfee announced his retirement from the league in 2018. But still, he kept football close to his chest via his podcast shows. However, this time, he is back in the ring.
According to EliteRockerz on X, “IT’S OFFICIAL: GUNTHER vs. Pat McAfee is set for WWE Backlash in St. Louis.” Like him, “I’M DEEPLY INVESTED NOW,” others too are excited to see the NFL star showing his muscles on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Last week on Raw, GUNTHER was furious after losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso at WrestleMania. His anger exploded when he went after announcers Michael Cole and Pat McAfee. In fact, what came as the biggest surprise was that GUNTHER tried choking Cole, but McAfee rushed in to save him. Unfortunately for McAfee, he ended up getting choked out instead.

This outburst led to a suspension and a fine for GUNTHER. But Pat McAfee wasn’t backing down. On the April 28th show, Pat McAfee called out GUNTHER, demanding a fight. With Raw GM Adam Pearce absent, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis stepped in and made it clear he couldn’t just lift the suspension. Instead, Aldis set up a sanctioned match for WWE Backlash, giving McAfee the chance to finally get his revenge on GUNTHER.
However, this fight isn’t McAfee’s first time in the ring. He has already competed in WWE several times. His last official match was against Baron Corbin at SummerSlam 2022. McAfee’s journey began at NXT TakeOver 30 in 2020, where he faced Adam Cole in a thrilling debut.
Later, he teamed up with Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan, and Danny Burch for a brutal WarGames match against the Undisputed ERA. Not only that—at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, McAfee took on Austin Theory, followed by a bizarre “match” with Vince McMahon, which McMahon won.
However, the next year, McAfee had a fight with The Miz, in which the Indianapolis Colts’ star technically defeated the professional wrestler at WrestleMania 39. But it wasn’t a full match. He even entered the 2024 Royal Rumble, though he barely got involved before eliminating himself in seconds. So, this time again, he is stepping into the ring for revenge. Will he be able to make it through? And if yes, who knows McAfee might choose WWE as his next professional career?

But let’s not forget Pat McAfee is also dealing with another controversy!
Pat McAfee’s vape incident is creating a buzz on the internet!
Pat McAfee, being his usual wild self, lit up the NFL Draft crowd at Lambeau when he casually took a hit from a vape-looking pen. Not only that! He offered it to ex-Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy – right there on live TV. However, McCarthy smiled, politely passed, and kept it moving, but the moment exploded online.

Later, Pat McAfee laughed it off. He even tossed the pen into the crowd, and even coughed a bit, which only got the fans more hyped. However, the former NFLer cleared the air, saying it was just CBD and vitamins from a guy at the draft.
Wisconsin laws are still tight, so it stirred some serious talk, especially with today’s scary substance scene. But for that brief second, it was just McAfee being McAfee – unfiltered, bold, and completely in his element. Anyway, don’t try this at home!
