The ‘trial of the century’ known as OJ Simpson reportedly passed away because of cancer on Wednesday at the age of 76. The news of Simpson dying from cancer was not made official earlier. However, his family officially released the news on Thursday. “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace,” said the family through X.

The former NFL icon had earned great fame in the initial years of his NFL and acting career, however, his 11-month spanning trial for double murder antagonized Simpson in the eyes of several people around the world. The foremost among them were the ones related to the people Simpson allegedly murdered: Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. One of the most crucial people in Goldman’s life: his father delivered a ‘justice-is-prevailed’ verdict on the news of OJ Simpson’s death. “No Great Loss To The World,” Fred Goldman said.

Goldman also added, This is just a reminder for us of how long Ron has been gone, how long we have missed him, and nothing more than that. That is the only thing that is important today. It is the pain from then until now. There is nothing today that is more important than the loss of my son and the loss of Nicole.”

Moreover, Caitlyn Jenner also feigned her words about Simpson’s death. Robert Kardashian, the former husband of Kris Jenner, who was the ex-wife of Caitlyn Jenner, served as the defense attorney for Simpson. “Good riddance,” commented Caitlyn Jenner. Whereas Goldman’s lawyer added that Simpson had “died without penance.” When it comes to the complicated life of OJ Simpson, the internet stands divided; however, they can be sure of one thing: he left a legacy in the world of the NFL.

OJ Simpson’s legacy in the NFL

Having rickets and leg braces at the age of 5 didn’t stop OJ Simpson from winning the Heisman Trophy at USC and later getting drafted in 1969 by the Buffalo Bills. While he initially didn’t get much chance to shine in the Bills, Lou Saban’s entry into the equation in 1972 changed the narrative for Simpson. The effects could be seen by everyone in the following 1973 season as OJ Simpson became the first player to rush for 2000-plus yards in a single season.
