Retired coach Nick Saban had some sincere words for his former Bengal quarterback, AJ McCarron. Saban has recently announced his retirement from football and has since been captured enjoying life away from the public eye, playing golf, and spending quality time with his family. McCarron took to social media recently to express his admiration for Saban’s remarkable tenure at Alabama, describing it as “an absolute run.”
McCarron is also known for his humorous personality as he added some banter, teasing a future golf showdown with his ex-coach. Saban responded in the same way, appreciating competition from his former quarterback. This exchange between the two personalities gives fans a depiction of their playful relationship while also sharing mutual respect.

“I told him I’m coming. As soon as this season is over and I get a little break, I’m coming to whip his a** and some golf and get some of that NIL money that I missed out on. So he laughed and texted back and said he needed some strokes if we would play.” AJ McCarron expressed his sentiments on Saban as he took to social media.

He further added how thankful he was for Saban’s role in shaping his perspective of the game and giving valuable life lessons. McCarron went on to express his understanding of Saban’s decision to step away from coaching, emphasizing the importance of enjoying life’s simple pleasures and spending time with family while also doing the simple things that make him happy, like golf.

McCarron played under Saban’s coaching from 2010 to 2013 and is known for being a competitor on and off the pitch. He now plays for St. Louis Battlehawks in the UFL, with the season starting on June 16. Under Saban, McCarron had developed into one of the program’s most successful quarterbacks for the Crimson Tide.
