“There’s a lot of people talking about the game now. I’m talking about these experts on TV who nobody remembers what they did in their career,” said Aaron Rodgers about Ryan Clark in December last year. It caused a hurricane in the NFL world, as both had a series of ugly exchanges back and forth. It reached a breaking point as Clark even called A-Rod a “fraud“. Even though the season has ended, Clark doesn’t have anything nice to say about the former Jets QB.

It happened in the backdrop of the official announcement by the NY Jets. They have told the veteran to pack his bags. He is set to enter the free agency on March 12th. So, the 31 teams are open and might assess the need for the veteran. But Clark warned them.

While discussing the development in A-Rod’s career during the February 13 episode of NFL on ESPN, Ryan Clark said, “If you’re going to get Aaron Rodgers the player, you have to know you’re getting a diminished Aaron Rodgers, with all the ego, all the arrogance, all the things that came along with being a four-time MVP. So, those are to me the more important conversations if you’re looking to bring Aaron Rodgers on your team.

A-Rod then started a feud with the owner, Woody Johnson. He claimed that the public didn’t like them. And the results were horrible. The Jets‘ fans wanted to qualify for the playoffs, but the elimination streak has continued since 2010. His TD-int. record of 2024 is 28-11.

One team that would be listening very carefully is the Steelers. They were the favorite to sign the veteran. But that door is also closed.

Mike Tomlin might not make space for Aaron Rodgers

A few days back, there were reports that the Steelers might let go of Russell Wilson and sign Aaron Rodgers in hopes of a Super Bowl. But a source revealed that the HC has claimed, “No need to have an older quarterback who’s overpaid and doesn’t show sign of being all in.

They made this mistake in the 2024 season. After signing the former Seahawks QB for a veteran minimum of $1.25 million, things looked promising at the start. However, it turned out badly, just like each year. They lost the final 4 games in a row and were eliminated from the playoffs by the Ravens.

This year, their strategy is to go with young players. Justin Fields is reported to be the starter. But they have kept their plans under wrap. Wilson is waiting for an update so that he can also plan his next move. Things are getting interesting as we approach free agency.
