The regular season of 2024 college football has ended. Travis Hunter, the Colorado Buffaloes’ wide receiver and cornerback, won the 2024 Heisman Trophy. Their HC Deion Sanders must be happy with his performance. Though the team failed to qualify for the postseason, NFL legends felt his coaching was fine.
The Giants legend and Super Bowl winner, Michael Strahan, openly supported Coach Prime. He shared an IG story with Michael Harriot’s tweet that read, “Travis Hunter became the first HBCU player to win the Heisman hours after Jackson State won its first HBCU national title, which is months before Shadeur will likely be the #1 pick in the NFL draft. Remember when Deion Sanders ruined college football?” But he added his tinge of sarcasm with a “🤔” Thinking Face emoji. The coach’s critics got their reply.
Deion Sanders’s stint at the Buffaloes has not been without controversies. The biggest among them is the large number of transfers. When he joined in 2023, he transferred out 46 players and brought in 50 players. They ended the 2023 season with a 4-8 record and a 1-8 record in Pac-12 play.

However, his antics continued in 2024 too, as they traded out 52 players and brought in 44 players. But the results improved as they had a 9-3 record and a 7-2 record in the Pac-12 play. It shows signs of progress on the team. Now, with the endorsements of NFL legends, he would be hoping to win the championship next year. This year, his focus has now shifted to his son, Shedeur Sanders.
The 2025 NFL draft is expected to feature many teams vying for the Buffaloes quarterback. But before that, many rumors are also spreading. But most of those are not true.
Deion Sanders clarifies rumors about his son’s NFL interests
Last month, in November 2024, sports commentator Mike Florio claimed on the Dan Patrick Show that Shedeur Sanders should refuse to play for the Jets and Panthers. The rumors are similar. But the teams have changed. An X account ‘NFL Rookie Watch‘ tweeted on December 14 that the Buffaloes QB would refuse to play for the Giants or Browns. Not only that, the tweet claimed he wanted to be drafted by the Raiders or the Cowboys.
