Tom Brady, the NFL legend, grabs the limelight with yet another controversial opinion. The 46-year-old retired in February but hasn’t failed to be a hot topic in the football world with his brutal opinions about the state of today’s NFL. But this time, his words have directly impacted Patrick Mahomes and his poor performance this season.
Patrick Mahomes, the QB for the Kansas City Chiefs, is often called the next great quarterback after Brady. But the last game against the Philadelphia Eagles saw Mahomes with a poor record of just over 177 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Thus, it makes sense as to why Brady seems dissatisfied with how the game is being played now compared to his 23-year season in the NFL.

Recently, Brady talked about the current status of the NFL and took multiple digs at the rules and how they have affected the performance of the game. This isn’t the first time Brady has been seen comparing the state of today’s NFL to his time in the sport, but it seems as if he went all out with his recent opinions.
He said, “I think there’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL. I don’t see the excellence that I saw in the past. I think the coaching isn’t as good as it was; I don’t think the development of young players is as good as it was.” But Jason Whitlock and Steve Kim took his stance as an opportunity to drag Mahomes’ name through the mud as they criticized the state of the quarterbacks in the NFL.

Steven Kim said, “I watched this Monday night game with two elite quarterbacks, and quite frankly, I was not that entertained. I thought the quarterback play was very mediocre, and these guys were considered elite Hurts and Mahomes.” Kim took a shot at both Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes, both quarterbacks for the Eagles and the Chiefs, respectively. But even though Hurts also gave a mediocre performance, his team still managed to win, which is more than what can be said about Mahomes.
