Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, seems to have struck gold with a new romance with legendary pop icon, Taylor Swift. The 33-year-old athlete has been making the news ever since the rumors of him and Swift started to surface. Though the fans of both celebrities speculated a lot, it is probable that the couple is in fact dating with the sort of tensions that have been brewing between them.

Ever since they confirmed their relationship by being spotted together in public, Swift has been making regular appearances at the Chiefs’ games to show her support for her alleged new boyfriend. She was spotted at the earlier match against the Chicago Bears as she sat with Kelce’s mother to cheer him on. With the oncoming match between the Jets and the Cheifs, Swift is rumored to be present there as well. Though all eyes will be on the singer, the Jets might have an opportunity to steal the spotlight away from the Cheifs’ new couple.

Colin Kaepernick is the man to draw attention away from Taylor Swift

Kaepernick has been in the news ever since he sent a letter to the New York Jets requesting them to let him replace the veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, following his injury. The former QB for the San Francisco 49ers suffered dejection as the Jets refused his offer and chose to bank on one of their players to replace A-Rod. While he didn’t get the spot with the Jets, he’s rumored to make a return to the gridiron soon. Neither Patrick Mahomes nor the legendary Tom Brady himself holds as much of a shock value as Kaepernick does currently in the NFL.

If the Jets choose to sign Kaepernick before the game itself, it is guaranteed that the fans of the NFL will be riddled with shock as he steps onto the field after a 7-year-long hiatus. The pair of Kelce-Swift has been dominating the NFL in terms of viewership and fan following but there’s a good chance that Kaepernick’s return could help turn the tide in the Jets’ favor. If not with the Jets, then who will he be making his much-anticipated return with?

Colin Kaepernick’s future in the NFL

Recently, it was announced that Kaepernick made the negotiation list for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. If selected, then he would probably be making the shift to the CFL from the NFL, much to fans’ disappointment. Though earlier denied by the Jets, it seems like his return to the field doesn’t seem that far away.

Kaepernick was released from the 49ers in 2016 due to a controversial political stand. He would take the knee before the American national anthem as a symbol of solidarity with the black people who were treated unfairly in the country. As such, the NFL didn’t approve of his politics being represented on the field and later, he was released from the squad on the grounds of “not fitting in the team for its future plans.” While officially never confirmed, the fans have always believed that Kaepernick’s knee cost him his career and had been exiled from the NFL until now.

With news of his return gathering more eyes every day, his fans have kept demanding several teams in the NFL to consider him as a potential transfer. Everyone in the NFL wishes for him to get a chance to prove himself which was often overlooked because he chose to speak his truth for his community. Maybe this is the season where Kaepernick gets to showcase his true talent.
