The ‘mediocre’ comment by Tom Brady has taken a turn no one would have ever imagined. Brady was called ‘hypocritical’, among many other things for criticizing a sport he made his name in for so many years until 2022. Analysts across the world were quick to chip in with their stances on why he was ‘hypocritical’. But in a surprising turn of events, Brady’s words were defended by an unlikely source.
‘Fearless’ host Jason Whitlock, often known for being the ‘bad cop’ when it comes to Deion Sanders’s progress with the Buffs, suddenly decided to switch sides. However, a plausible reason was pulling the strings for the shift. As if Whitlock wasn’t already making headlines for persuasively defending Tom Brady, he added yet another aspect to his argument, Deion Sanders’ identical say on the same topic.

Jason Whitlock praises Deion Sanders

In a very intriguing turn of events, arguably Coach Prime’s biggest critic took some humble pie in accepting a progressive statement made by Deion Sanders. Firstly, Whitlock was absolutely baffled by Brady ruining his own future product, given his massive $375 million contract with Fox Sports. Hence, instead of praising him for his honesty, analysts were thrashing him for the same, something that irked Whitlock. So deciding to bring in his A-game, he brought in Deion Sanders. “Deion Sanders has basically been saying the exact same thing as it relates to the Hall of Fame.”

He further cleared out why Sanders was advocating for it. “All standards of performance are being lowered and we’re calling good great and we’re calling mediocre football next level and great.” Safe to say Deion Sanders had his own reasons, the same as Tom Brady, to make such a statement.

Apparently, Deion Sanders said it before Tom Brady did. However, it was limited to just the Hall of Fame, rather than the whole sport, or its young players, which was the only difference. Deion Sanders has been advocating for a distinction between the former players and the younger players etching their names on the list.

So much so that Sanders is even ready to wear a different colored jacket, just to acknowledge the difference. “The Hall of Fame ain’t the Hall of Fame no more. I love it, I respect it. I think all the guys who are inducted are definitely deserving. But it needs to be a different colored jacket.” By shedding some light on the topic, and bringing it to the public’s notice yet again, Whitlock might have unlocked a potential revolution in the sport. With two legends of the NFL speaking up on the topic, how likely are the authorities to consider it? Only time, and fans’ response to the news, will tell.
