Reactions are divided as some side with the retired legend while some opine that the Kansas City Chiefs QB can potentially surpass Tom Brady. But is it an achievable feat?

RG3 and Calvin Johnson Jr. just spoke their minds on RG3 and The Ones about Patrick Mahomes. Despite acknowledging that the Chiefs QB has Jordan-like traits because of his competitive performance and disciplined work ethic, RG3 said, “I still believe the GOAT is Tom Brady. I believe Mahomes knows he needs a couple more rings before he can take over that GOAT status but he’s well on his way.”

Already having two SB rings in his possession, Patrick Mahomes is on his way to securing his third ring as he makes his fourth SB appearance in five seasons. While an exceptional talent himself, it can be a monumental yet not impossible task to beat Tom Brady’s record because he’s still five rings short. With seven Super Bowl rings in his 23 years, the retired legend remains the unrivaled NFL GOAT.

Meanwhile, Calvin Johnson Jr. aka Megatron only has high praises for the 28-year-old as he exclaimed in disbelief, “Jesus man! The kid is talented… It’s like he intentionally saw the best attributes from all the best quarterbacks and try to put it in one package.” The retired WR is always vocal about his admiration for Mahomes.

Calvin Johnson Jr. also previously expressed his envy over Mahomes’ TE Travis Kelce who enjoys the privilege to play alongside the talented QB. The duo recently broke Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski‘s record for the most postseason touchdowns with 16, beating the QB-TE duo record at 15. Considering that the Chiefs QB achieved this feat in a considerably less period of six seasons compared to Tom Brady’s record in 11 seasons, who knows what Patrick Mahomes can’t achieve?
