The NFL world was hit with a wave of sadness when Hall of Famer Randy Moss opened up about his battle with cancer. Back in December, the former WR announced he’d be stepping away from ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown to focus on his health. At first, Moss didn’t reveal the full story, but a few days later, during an IG live, he shared, “I am a cancer survivor. Some trying times, but we made it through.” Since then, Moss has been on a break. Fast forward a few months, and the NFL world is buzzing about Moss again. And this time, it’s all thanks to Adam Schefter.
This Super Bowl, we’re already hyped to see how Tom Brady does in his new role. The former Pats QB will be calling the game for the very first time. But wait, there’s more good news. And that is, Randy Moss is making his comeback too! That’s right, hours before the Super Bowl kicks off, Moss will be back on screen. ESPN’s Adam Schefter dropped the bomb on Saturday with a post on X. “A huge welcome back: Hall-of-Fame WR Randy Moss is returning to ESPN’s NFL Countdown, Sunday, 10 am ET, live from New Orleans.”

Moss joined ESPN about eight years ago. And since then, he’s been one of the most loved faces on Sunday NFL Countdown. The audience loves his energy and his insights. But back in December, something seemed off when viewers noticed his eyes looked a little yellowish during a live show. And concern started to spread. Moss didn’t say much at first, just called it an ‘internal‘ health issue. And took a break from his analyst role.
Then a few weeks later, the WR revealed that he’d been recovering from surgery to treat cancer found outside his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver. Now, as Moss gets ready to make his comeback at the analyst desk, he has shared another health update.
