Three-time Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, and still not a great choice for the Hall of Fame honor? We’re talking about former Patriots WR Julian Edelman here. On December 28, the NFL announced the nominees for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. And despite having three Super Bowl wins, they didn’t nominate Julian for this elite honor.
But the 38-year-old is least bothered about it. On Tuesday, Julian Edelman appeared on the Dan Patrick Show. When asked about not being nominated for the most prestigious honor, the former WR simply said it was not his “goal.” Dan then asked what he would say to voters who haven’t considered him. “I’m not a campaigner, so I wouldn’t,” said Edelman. The reason voters might not have considered him could be his regular season stats, which aren’t exactly jaw-dropping. Over 137 games, the Pats WR recorded 620 receptions for 6,822 yards and racked up 41 TDs.

But Edelman’s got three Lombardi trophies to his name. “My goal in life was not to make the Hall of Fame. My goal was to go out and hoist a Lombardi Trophy. And I got to do that three times. I played my best football games in those matches, so that’s pretty much where I stand with all that stuff. I’m not going to sit here and campaign to try to get into the Hall of Fame. I think that’s lame,” added Julian.
Edelman’s regular season stats might not exactly scream ‘elite,’ but his postseason numbers are definitely impressive. The former Patriots WR piled up 118 catches, 1,442 yards, and 6 touchdowns across 19 playoff games. “If I get in, I get in. If I don’t, I’ve got a beautiful eight-year-old daughter and three trophies that I’ll be happy with for the rest of my life. Four, because I got the MVP of the last one,” Julian added, putting an end to the Hall of Fame conversation.
Edelman, getting ready for his first Super Bowl with Fox, also gave his thoughts on how Tom Brady will do as an analyst.
Julian Edelman backs up Tom Brady
Tom Brady is always on the move. Even after hanging up his cleats, Brady, like many NFL legends, jumped into broadcasting. He landed a jaw-dropping 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox. And now, TB12 is about to cover his first Super Bowl, pairing up with play-by-play pro, Kevin Burkhardt, to call the Chiefs vs. Eagles Super Bowl finale.

Edelman expressed his emotions on Brady’s big game, saying, “I guarantee he’s probably going to be very fired up. He’s probably going to be imagining himself in those situations.” Tom Brady’s friend and his WR for many years, Edelman, appeared on Fox’s show, ‘Fox & Friends,’ and he is all in, rooting for his former QB. “He’s gonna show us inside looks to things only he knows Patrick Mahomes is going through,” Julian added.
Edelman will also be one of the analysts for Fox, covering the big game. It looks like this Super Bowl; you might get to see Tom and Julian back again. Not on the gridiron, but in the studio. Watching them both together will probably bring a wave of nostalgia. Taking everyone on a trip down memory lane to when the Patriots were ruling the NFL.
