If there’s one thing NFL fans love, it’s a good ol’ quarterback debate. And when it comes to Patrick Mahomes, the conversation is never just about his rocket arm or no-look passes. Nah, it’s also about whether he sells calls a little too well. You know, the classic “drawing the flag” talk. Some call it smart play, others call it, well… acting. And guess who just weighed in on it? It’s none other than the former Patriots, Julian Edelman.

Speaking of Edelman, no doubt, the NFL legend knows a thing or two about getting rocked on the field. During his recent chat on the Dan Patrick Show, Edelman took a trip down memory lane and recalled that bone-jarring hit from Kam Chancellor in Super Bowl XLIX. “I do think you were concussed on the cam Chancellor hit again in the Super Bowl, you can finally admit it,” Dan Patrick said to Edelman.

Well, the former wide receiver confirmed that he wasn’t concussed. But here’s the catch: he took a jab at the Chiefs‘ QB with a funny example. “I had a hip injury. Yeah, I get banged, but I knew that hit was coming,” he explained.“If I was concussed, I wouldn’t have been able to try to get up and go. We all know the fencing thing. We’re all so educated on concussions. Now, I got my 8-year-old daughter telling me she got concussions because we talk about him so much. I mean it’s crazy… I’m not joking, these little kids, you know, they get a butterfly that hits their head and then they got concussions.”

That’s when the conversation took an unexpected turn. Dan, playing along, asked, “She (Edelman’s daughter) trying to draw a flag?” And Edelman? Oh, he ran with it. “Trying to draw a flag? She’s pulling the Patty Mahomes—like really, we can’t be doing that,” he declared. Boom. There it was. A full-blown roast of the Chiefs’ QB, wrapped up in Dad humor.

It’s safe to say, that Edelman chose one h*ck of a time to bring out this anecdote on Dan Patrick’s show. I mean, it’s not even been a couple of weeks since the refs penalized the Houston Texans team for roughing the passer, and that too a couple of times. But let’s be real. Edelman didn’t just take a jab at Mahomes, right? Because he isn’t the only QB accused of doing so.

Julian Edelman is back with another Brady story

If you think the Patriots legend was done with his stories, think again—he was just getting started. Besides his crisp route running, insane footwork, and an almost telepathic connection with Tom Brady, what’s that one thing Edelman is known for? Any guesses? Well, it’s the stories about Tom Brady that he shares. And he’s back with yet another anecdote when Dan Patrick asked, “Give me a Brady story that I haven’t heard.”

At first, he played it cool, saying he’d already told most of them. But, of course, that didn’t stop him from pulling out something new—and this time, it came with a hilariously confusing twist involving Angel Soft. Yes, the toilet paper brand. “Have you ever seen Angel in the Outfield,” he asked Patrick. Yep, you guessed that right, he’s talking about the Angel in the Outfield movie. Umm, looks like things are getting juicy here.

“Yeah, you know, when they start doing this (trying to summon angels), yeah well, you know, where that came from, right? That came from Angel Soft.” Pretty shocking, right? Well, asked Dan Patrick, who was clearly as lost as the rest of us. But he let Edelman keep rolling and the former wide receiver doubled down.

“It’s like it’s like having um what is it…I am telling you… all of a sudden they make a play, you know, it’s the same thing that like all of a sudden the Angel Soft thing going to happen and Angel’s going to come out of nowhere to give you 30 seconds so you can go do your business,” he further said. Now, whether Edelman was jokingly mixing up Angel in the Outfield with Angel Soft or just letting his brain run wild mid-story, we may never know. But one thing’s for sure. Whether it is roasting someone or coming up with a great Tom Brady story, Julian Edelman is one of the best storytellers in the league.
