The 4 Nations Face-Off 2025 Final success has been drawing the attention of high-profile figures. The strong rivalry between American player Tom Brady and Canadian player Tie Domi stole some spotlight. The two legends even left former NFL DE JJ Watt awestruck with their thrilling bet on the Canada vs. USA final.
Brady picked up a stick and hit the ice alongside former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi in a video shared on social media Thursday. “Most improved player, suiting up for Team USA tonight,” Domi said as Brady glided down the ice in the video. TB12 and Domi also placed a bet on the Canada vs. USA final, with the loser having to wear the opposing team’s colors. This friendly banter made Watt jump in the middle with his comment.
Taking to the comment section, three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Watt hilariously warned the NHL legend for massive penalties. “Be careful Tie, getting that close is a 15-yard penalty and a hefty fine,” he commented.

However, taking this as a positive reinforcement, the former Toronto Maple Leafs player even seemed grateful for ‘Finally Beating’ ex-NFL QB Brady. “Would love to. I gotta finally beat Tom at something,” the NHL player replied.

The Instagram post also featured Tie’s voice, which also garnered fans’ attention. While the former Patriots QB was skating down the ice, an accomplished NHL player adored him. “Most improved player, playing for Team USA tonight,” he remarked. Later on, Tie also uplifted the Canadian participant’s spirit. “Go Canada! Let’s go boys, keep it up!” Tie stated further.
Obviously, the two legends surely won many hearts with their friendly bet on the final game. The electrifying final event took place in Boston. That’s where the NFL legend majorly spent most of his Hall of Fame career while leading the Patriots to six SB titles.
The first game earned much attention, as it featured three fights in nine seconds. Hence, after seeing the post, JJ Watt commented on ‘Finally Beating’ Tom Brady. However, he issued a challenge after appreciating the NHL for the biggest tournament.
JJ Watt commended the NHL for 4 Nations Face-Off
The former all-pro defensive lineman J.J. seems incredibly thrilled for the 4 Nations Face-Off event. To celebrate this momentous occasion, he appreciated the NHL for organizing the first “best-on-best” competition in nearly nine years. He even addressed 4 Nations Face-Off as the ‘Definition of growing the game‘.

Thrilled by the moment, JJ Watt also emphasized that hosting a major event like this has helped attract more people to the sport. “It’s just incredible how much of a home run 4 Nations has been for the NHL and hockey in general,” he wrote in his post. “Friends who have never watched a hockey game in their lives are reaching out, asking about tonight’s game, what food we’re ordering, etc. Definition of growing the game,” he added.

However, Watt’s interest in the hockey tournament comes as no surprise. Growing up in Wisconsin, he spent many years playing hockey with his younger brother, Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt. Before launching his football career, he had a deep passion for hockey. So, his enthusiasm for the 4 Nations event is entirely understandable.
Team USA defeated Canada 3-1 in a highly intense match. And it’s no surprise that it drew 10.1 million viewers—especially with three fights breaking out in the first nine seconds. The rivals will clash again on Thursday in Boston for the upcoming tournament championship.
