She was actually in danger of having a seizure, having a stroke, and potentially dying.” Dr. Michelle Israel, who was one of Michael Strahan’s daughter’s doctors, informed the family that the prognosis wasn’t good at that time. Still, Isabella fought the battle, because she already promised her daddy, “Hey dad, I’ll do whatever they say. I just want to live. I don’t want to die.” So, on one side, the now 30-year-old was preparing to battle with cancer. While on the other side, her family was fighting with their tears and heartbreak, as revealed by her momma.

A clip from this week’s episode of Good Morning America was shared on Instagram, capturing an emotional moment. In the latest update, Michael Strahan’s ex-wife, Jean Muggli, opened up about how she reacted to the heartbreaking news. Recalling that moment, she said, “And that’s when it all came together that they started calling the parents and Sophia, her sister.

Muggli paused for a while as she struggled to find the words. Michael Strahan’s ex-wife recalled, “That was just the worst moment any parent could expect and like you don’t expect it. It was just, my kids had never been sick.” Her emotions were raw, and as she relieved the pain, tears streamed down her face.

Even Michael Strahan’s other daughter, twin-sister Sophia, didn’t know how to process it. She revealed that Isabella had texted her, saying, “she was like, they’re acting like I have a brain tumor or something (0:12) and she was like, ha ha. I was like…..” Silence. Sophia was speechless as the weight of those words hit her hard.

A couple of days ago, even the co-host of the show, Michael Strahan, talked about the situation. He disclosed his feelings of that time, saying,….it’s just you’re hopeless. And you’re helpless. You’re just a father who knows nothing more than to fix what you can for your kids. I can’t fix this. All I can do is sit back and pray that we have the right doctors and that it’s something that can be treated so that she can get back to being as normal as possible and get back to her life.” Nevertheless, after undergoing multiple treatments and brain surgeries, Isabella was declared cancer-free by her doctors in July 2024. She finally came out on top in her battle for life, as she revealed, “Everything is clear.” But this battle taught her something invaluable…

Michael Strahan’s cancer-free daughter revealed her biggest lesson

In a recent appearance on GMA, Michael Strahan’s daughter Isabella revealed a few lessons she learned from her cancer battle. She expressed, “I learned how you should advocate for yourself. I think the whole journey has taught me that. I think I should have known something was wrong earlier, and I think it’s always important to trust yourself and trust your body … That’s something I’ve taken into account, is always staying positive but always really knowing in your mind if something’s wrong.” With this, Isabella urged everyone to pay attention to what their mind and body are trying to say, as self-love and care are very important in life.

After knowing this, ex-Giants star Michael Strahan’s first thought was – “As a parent, you’re scared. Oh my, you’re just scared. It never occurred to us that it would be cancer. I’ll be honest with you, just looking at the trajectory at that point of her life — and we have no history of anything bad in the family.” Nevertheless, Isabella is fine now. No doubt, the entire Strahan family fought it together with bravery.
