This Monday was the day the Green Bay Packers will always remember as the day they almost schooled Jalen Hurts. The reason? The Eagles clinched a decisive win over the Packers despite their offensive struggles, especially for the QB during the game as they secured a divisional-round spot. But man, Hurts will surely want to move on from his gameplay ahead of the Rams showdown on Sunday.
However, it would be wrong to blame the QB for the team’s O-line struggles during the wild-card game and the former center of the Eagles couldn’t agree more. On Thursday, Jason Kelce appeared on the 94WIP Morning Show where he talked about the Eagles’ win over the Green Bay team. When asked about the team’s offensive struggles, Kelce had a straightforward answer.
When asked about the #Eagles' offensive struggles in their NFC Wildcard game win over the #Packers, Jason Kelce says it is unfair to put it all on Jalen Hurts:
"I don't think we ran block particularly well. I know the run game was better, but I thought there was more to be had…

“I don’t think we ran block particularly well,” Kelce stated on 94WIP Morning Show. “I know the run game was better, but I thought there was more to be had across the board offensively, to be honest with you. So, I don’t think it’s fair to just put it on Jalen. I think that there was a number of things everyone could have done better.”
Speaking of Hurts, the QB threw 21 passes in the wild-card round. However, he managed to succeed in just 13 of them for 131 yards. But, he still ended up in the end zone a couple of times, which helped the team to get the game in their favor with 22-10. And to add fuel to the fire? The Eagles had a terrible track record for passing yards, as they recorded just 121 yards. Thanks to the RB, Saquon Barkley, who rushed for 119 yards that played a vital role in the Eagles‘ win.
Now, the way things shaped up, no doubt that Kelce’s statement towards the QB isn’t without merit. The reason? Well, the Eagles O-line struggled in the wildcard round. There’s no denying in that. But despite that, Hurts found a way to secure their showdown against the Rams. How? For starters, besides racking up two TDs, he didn’t fumble and didn’t throw an interception.
“I think you guys need to understand I don’t play the game for anything other than to win,” Hurts told the media on Wednesday. “My role and approach in each game will be different…Ultimately, it’s about winning the game. It’s playoff football.” Indeed, his approach worked out in the team’s favor. And Jason Kelce had his own take on the team’s playoff appearance and his feelings on the matter.
Jason Kelce’s confession one-year after retirement
When you’ve played for over a decade with a team, no doubt you want to be part of their success moving forward. And Jason Kelce in no stranger to this. When asked about how he feels about the Philadelphia making a playoff run without him, the season after he retired, Kelce had an emotional response.

“I’m very much happy for all of the guys there,” Jason Kelce stated. “All of the coaches, all of the players. Of course, I’m one season out of it so I do have some part of it that wishes I could be there and be a part of something like this. But you know, it was my time. I still feel like I made the right decision. This is the way it goes.” Is he wishing that he should have stayed for another reason? Guess we’ll never know.
A caller asked Jason Kelce how he feels about the Philadelphia #Eagles making a playoff run without him, the season after he retired:

However, Jason Kelce is out there making noise in other gigs. And who can avoid his podcast called New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce with his brother, Travis. On the other hand, Kelce now hosts the late-nigh talk show that goes by the name of They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce. So, we may not be able to see him in the Eagles uniform, but their former center is out there winning in other ventures.
