Jason Kelce panicking in Week One—Is this a sign of trouble for the Eagles this season?

Former Eagles center Jason Kelce continues to bleed green after missing out on-field action as the first week of the new NFL season unfolded. After announcing his retirement this year, the Eagles were starting their season without Travis Kelce’s brother for the first time in 13 years. Watching the Eagles take on the Packers from his home, Kelce shared how a weird behavior took over his actions on the Ryen Russillo Podcast.

Sharing his first experience away from the gridiron, Jason talked about how he was “panic live tweeting” the entire game. “It was a tough week. I feel like I panic live-tweeted the whole game because it was like a distraction to me. I look back like, what the heck, I just tweeted the entire time.” Well, we need to sympathize with Jason Kelce, whose 100+ consecutive appearances in Philadelphia showed the dedication he played with.

But this hasn’t led to him forgetting the ‘camaraderie’ and locker room chit-chats he used to have with Eagles teammates. Even his recent contribution is fondly remembered by the Eagles after guiding them to a Super Bowl title back in 2018. Although it was weird not to see Jason taking the field for the Eagles at center, 25-year-old Cam Jurgens did a commendable job as Philadelphia recorded their first win against the Packers on Brazilian soil.

Continuing on his thoughts about watching his beloved Eagles, Kelce added, “It was weird one to sit there and watch all the guys go out there, and then it was also, you know, weird to see myself on Monday Night Countdown.” After hanging his cleats, the 36-year-old has since found himself starting a new chapter as a broadcaster for ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. And his ESPN debut was something to be remembered as Kelce put on a show that got Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift dying with laughter.

Jason Kelce transitioning from gridiron days

It was two former Super Bowl Champions who made their debut as broadcasters for respective networks. On one hand, Tom Brady made his debut as a commentator for Fox Sports Network while Jason took on the role of ESPN broadcaster. However, fans weren’t too ecstatic to see the seven-time Super Bowl champion embarking on his new chapter, while Kelce garnered completely different reactions.

Although Jason didn’t forget to complete his throws as a center, he did forget to carry his travel bag from the truck. While scrambling to find a replacement, he didn’t want to appear shirtless on his ESPN debut. Explaining that situation, which got him tensed, Kelce spoke about a small issue that hindered his comfort while wearing the shirt: “It fits my belly now. I’ve lost a little bit of weight. But my t— are still struggling.”

Well, it was live on air when Kelce shared these thoughts that got Travis and Taylor Swift giggling with laughter. Sharing that moment, Travis stated, “Me and Taylor were watching that, absolutely dying laughing at it. It was the perfect thing to open everybody up to what they were gonna experience for the next 18 weeks. Do we think this is the first time ‘t—‘ has been said on ESPN?”

Jason didn’t shy away from replying to his brother’s query, saying ESPN didn’t mention any rule for not saying the word on live air. But most of us expected him not to say something like that. Even though there’s a lot more of the former Eagles center to come as he transitions into a new chapter. We could expect him to share a few more moments throughout the season where he missed being on the field making the plays.
