You are a SUPERWOMAN!Michael Strahan praised his daughter on social media after Isabella Strahan completed her chemo. She is officially cancer-free now. Isabella had returned to USC in August of last year, a couple of weeks after she was declared cancer-free, just shy of a year after her October 2023 diagnosis. And this entire year has been a roller coaster ride for the Strahan family.

Recently, Isabella and her dad opened up to Town & Country about the family’s “crazy year.” Although she has got rid of the disease, Isabella is working on regaining her balance, her weight, and her regular life back. “I think in the long run we’ll figure out a way to benefit from it,” Michael said of the experience, though added: “The process was a lot scarier than we imagined.” However. according to Isabella, she has her takeaways from the entire saga.

“I’m happy to be here,” and emphasized: “I think this year has made me stronger. The people in your life are what makes it enjoyable. Now I don’t say no to anything. I don’t think, ‘I’ll do it next week. You don’t know what next week will look like.” Michael agreed that he now lives his life “more in the moment,” and that he is “more gentle in a lot of ways.” Indeed, the Strahan kid looks to have taken this learning to heart, as her latest social media post suggests that she is living her life to the fullest.

Isabella’s return to Los Angeles has possibly been impacted by the ongoing wildfire crisis there, which has burned over 30,000 acres of the city and left thousands without homes. While staying away from LA, Strahan’s daughter shared a story on her official Instagram account on Monday. In this new update, she posted a beautiful smiling picture of herself from the basketball court. Yes! She was in attendance at the New York Knicks vs Detroit Pistons game, where “The Bad Boys” won 124-119.

However, she wasn’t alone. The NFL legend’s daughter was with her friend and professional boxer Ben Garcia. Their presence together could be seen in the 2x US Champ Boxer’s IG story as well, where he shared a video waving to fans on social media, along with Isabella. As per the story caption, the former Giants DE’s daughter was there to support the Knicks, as she posted red and blue hearts along with the Statue of Liberty emojis.

Isabella’s glowing face caught fans’ attention, as she donned a black top pairing it with blue denims. The aspiring model even perfectly accessorized her look by adding a black glittery embellished structured shoulder bag and gold-plated earrings. On the other hand, Garcia too donned his casual look wearing a black hoodie with a special Knicks muffler.

Although their team lost the matchup against the Pistons, Michael Strahan’s daughter and the professional boxer were happy to hang out together. If you look at Isabella’s picture, there is one more thing that you can not miss and probably serves as a reminder of what she had to go through.

Isabella Strahan's fight against cancer—what does her journey teach us about resilience and family support?

Have an interesting take?

It is her short hair. Isabella’s Instagram showcases several pictures from the days before her cancer diagnosis, where she sported her curly tresses proudly. As you know, one side effect of chemotherapy is hair loss, Isabella also could not escape that. It has not been easy for her to deal with that.

In one of her vlogs, Isabella shared that the hair loss started pretty quickly after she began radiation therapy and she was upset to see herself. “I couldn’t even look at myself because it was worse than probably not having hair,” Isabella said. But after about two weeks of radiation therapy, she couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to shave it all off in the middle of the night with the help of her sister.

But after that, she’s embraced her new look. With Sophia’s help, Isabella made a TikTok video to have a little fun with that. In the video, Sophia lip-synced along with a snippet from the animated series “Monster High.” As she snatched a wig off of her sister’s head, Sophia pretended to say, “Oh my gosh! She’s bald! She’s bald and she’s torturing people who have hair!” Now, as Isabella slowly gains her hair back, it surely gives her another reason to celebrate the journey that started as a bolt from the blue.

A sudden, unsettling revelation, but Michael Strahan’s daughter stood strong

Michael Strahan’s daughter realized she could not walk in a straight line as her friends asked if she would fall off the mountains during their hike trip. Doctors failed to recognize the issue. But when Isabella Strahan threw up blood, they realized something had gone horribly wrong. Later, it was confirmed that the 20-year-old was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a fast-growing brain tumor.

In her interview with GMA, Isabella recalled her first experience, “I didn’t notice anything was off ’til probably like October 1. That’s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, couldn’t walk straight.” This compelled her to take up an emergency surgery at Cedars-Sinai to remove the mass on October 27. And to make it worse, it was a day before her 19th birthday. Nevertheless, the surgery was successful, and she later started her chemotherapy at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Then in June 2024, when Isabella completed her chemo, Michael Strahan threw a “Hooray” part for her. The friends and family joined in the celebration, as the former athlete made sure to praise his baby with an emotional note: “@isabellastrahan you are a SUPERWOMAN! Ringing that bell, finishing chemo and on your way! (prayers emoji) You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella.”

His love and pride for his daughter were clear to see in his caption on the post. In addition, Strahan said in that GMA interview, “I literally think that, in a lot of ways, I’m the luckiest man in the world, because I’ve got an amazing daughter. I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this.”

Kudos to you, Isabella!
