We got to admire the confidence of Shannon Sharpe as he takes up a challenge against The Rock nonchalantly. The retired Denver Broncos tight end incited excitement among fans on an appearance at The Talk on CBS by issuing a highly competitive challenge to the WWE champion. 

When it comes to athletes and their physiques, Dwayne Johnson and Shannon Sharpe are among the ones with the fittest bodies. Even as the former NFL star’s retirement from the league marks a decade this year, he’s still as fit as a fiddle. Confidence exudes in him as he declares a workout competition with The Rock.

Shannon Sharpe let himself into a challenge with The Rock on The Talk when he was asked who currently bench presses more, him or the Rock. The retired NFL tight end recollected himself, saying he hasn’t bench-pressed in over a year. But he confidently said, “Give me a month, I’ll get him.” It’s gonna be a really interesting contest, and fans are already waiting in line to see that happen.

Immediately, his statement became a challenge, with The Talk CBS host Akbar Gbajabiamila stating, “That’s locker room talk right there.” The other host went on to say, “If we get The Rock on, you gotta challenge him on a camera or something.” That’s exactly what everybody would suggest. Who wouldn’t want to see a bench press competition between the two toned legends who have lots of muscles to flex?

Shannon Sharpe wasted no time in taking up the challenge. He turned to the camera and declared, “One month, Rock. You and I, bench press competition.” Thr Rock wasted no time in commenting, “I got my money on UNC @shannonsharpe84 too!! 😂💪🏾Shannon is the GOAT, I don’t want that smoke 😂”. Looks like he’s already given up the competition!

After retiring from the NFL in 2023 after 14 seasons, Shannon Sharpe has managed to maintain the physique of an athlete, much to the curiosity of fans. The 3-time Super Bowl is a fitness addict who admitted that he started getting drawn to working out when he was in college. He said, “In college, I started lifting weights and changing my body, and I was hooked. I was like an addict.

The 56-year-old retired NFL star reveals that he can’t imagine not working out and that he can’t sit still without lifting or cardio. He stated, “I’ve always got to work out because that’s what I love doing. I don’t have any other hobbies.” He admits that he even hits the gym two to three times a day, comparing his love for the gym and working out to “the enjoyment people get out of going to the mall or on vacation.
