Stephen A. Smith, the famous American commentator, comes out with yet another controversial opinion. The 55-year-old has always been at the head of the news with the strong opinions he has to say. This time, however, he takes a dig at coach Belichick of the New England Patriots and the famed NFL legend, Tom Brady.

The recent match between the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints raises several questions about Belichick’s coaching capabilities. The Patriots suffered a devastating defeat by a staggering score of 34-0, one of the poorest performances in the league so far. Thus, Smith didn’t hold back when it came to talking about the inconsistency that Belichick has been displaying this season.

On the latest episode of the ‘First Take’ show, Stephen expressed his honest thoughts on the situation. He talked about how Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, should call Belichick into office and tell him that he won’t be the general manager of the team any longer. This wouldn’t mean that Belichick would still be a coach but can’t make any decisions about the athletes that get to make it in the squad.

In his own words, Smith said, “If Bill Belichick did not accept that this would be Bill Belichick’s last season in New England.” Usually, Smith’s words are harsh and extremely controversial, but this time he might be in the right. As fans also demand a change in the team’s coaching staff, it might very well mean a potential demotion for the 8-time Super Bowl coach.

Though the fans would mostly agree with Smith’s viewpoint, it won’t help his case as he continues to be a hugely disliked figure in the history of the NFL as well as the NBA.

The time when Stephen A. Smith was on the receiving end of judgment

Smith was recently invited to the Yankee Stadium to throw out the first ceremonial opening pitch in a match against the Toronto Blue Jays. All the eyes were on him as the fans would finally get to see a glimpse of Smith participating in something mildly athletic. Thus, giving them an opportunity to judge his skills and hopefully give him a taste of his own medicine.

He walked out onto the field sporting a Derek Jeter jersey and looking extremely confident about his baseball pitching skills. Much to fans’ excitement, Smith threw out a horrendous throw that missed the target completely. After which, he was subjected to a world of humiliation and his face was a sight to see as he was at a loss for words from all the strenuous mockery. However, it is safe to say that Smith is probably right with his words about the Bill Belichick situation as the Patriots desperately try to make major changes to their plays.
