Tom Brady‘s retirement is anything but quiet! He’s ventured into an E1 (all-electric boat racing) team ownership, even braving a roast comedy show swirling around his life. But the biggest buzz surrounds his record-breaking $375 million contract with Fox Sports, making him the highest-paid sportscaster ever! The hype reaches a fever pitch as he prepares for his NFL commentary debut on September 8th, calling the Week 1 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.

Ahead of this highly anticipated debut, the legendary quarterback is setting expectations with his characteristic work ethic. In a recent interview on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Brady highlighted preparation as key to his success. “Because really, the game is the show. We’re there to add our take on it and our analysis.” He also acknowledged the pressure and the work he’s ready to put into it.

“From my standpoint, I’m going to work as hard as I can,” he confirmed. The GOAT then added, “I don’t want to let anyone down.” By this, he means, “I don’t want to let the people of Fox down. I certainly don’t want to let the great NFL fans down, either.” Looks like this dedication goes far beyond justifying his hefty salary. Brady truly wants to live up to the immense fan hype.

Now, months before his NFL gig starts, Tom Brady has dipped his toes into broadcasting with the UFL. While the reception wasn’t perfect, it seems this “shaky” experience has only made him more determined to nail his official debut.

Tom Brady’s broadcasting debut gets haunted by Spygate

Tom Brady may be the undisputed NFL legend with 7 Super Bowl wins, but a past controversy still lingers for some fans. While the Birmingham Stallions dominated the San Antonio Brahmas with a massive 25-0, Brady’s experience wasn’t entirely smooth sailing in the arena. During the St. Louis leg of the game, Brady encountered a wave of boos from the local crowd. This animosity likely stems from Brady’s team’s role in the infamous “Spygate” scandal of 2007.

The New England Patriots, Brady’s team, were accused of illegally videotaping the St. Louis Rams’ (now Los Angeles Rams) defensive signals, potentially giving the Patriots an unfair advantage in their Super Bowl victory that year. Though the accusations were never directly linked to Brady, many St. Louis fans still harbor resentment towards Brady and the Patriots for what they believe cost them a championship.
