One thing about the human mind is it remembers everything when they do it for the first time. And when it’s an achievement, everyone wants to celebrate it. 2024 is a historic year for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The franchise completed a milestone in its history. The Black and the Gold’s 1974 season ended with Super Bowl IX, their first Super Bowl win. They celebrated the special occasion during the week MNF game between the Jets and Steelers. Many members of that team were present. Though fans missed Terry Bradshaw, many reveled in the moment of glory. It was like a dream you don’t want to wake out of.
The Acrisure Stadium lit up with the presence of their greats. 50 years! Most members of the Super Bowl winners are in their 70s, but those memories of lifting the Trophy are still fresh in their minds. It’s etched in their hearts. While Lynn Swann, Jack Lambert, John Stallworth, and Mike Webster were rookies in that season, Donnie Shell was brought in as an undrafted free agent. The team was going through uncertainties.
They had 3 quarterbacks, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Gilliam, and Terry Hanratty, and often rotated them. But the clarity of mind worked wonders for them. And Head Coach Chuck Noll had only one thing in mind. Win the games. The experience mattered, but only minutely. Ultimately, they won the Super Bowl. It changed the football culture of the city. After the honor, the players also enjoyed the Steelers 2024 Alumni Weekend Dinner. Most of them might have met after a long time. But in the minds of a few of them, there might have been a hot topic for discussion. Terry Bradshaw’s health!

The legend has been dealing with health concerns of late. During the SNF football coverage on FOX, he started talking about the Bengals vs Browns. However, the highlights showed the Bills vs Titans game. Though he corrected his mistake within a few seconds. Fans were shocked! It was utter disbelief. Some claimed that he was dealing with an illness.

Terry Bradshaw’s continuous struggle to remain fit
Immediately after retiring in 1984, the Steelers legend signed a deal with CBS and became an analyst. Though fans enjoyed his hot takes on various topics, he felt an emptiness in his heart. The 1990s were new to him in different ways. It taught him many lessons. In the 1990s, after becoming an analyst on Fox NFL, the Super Bowl winner was diagnosed with depression.

It made Terry Bradshaw search for answers. By his admission, he went from a preacher to a psychologist to a psychiatrist. Eventually, his mental health became normal. But it left us with a new avatar of the great QB. A mental health advocate!
In the 2010s, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer and Merkel cell cancer. But the legend also walked out of it fully fit. He has been fully free of cancer for the last 2-3 years. The mystery now is about his recent medical condition. Was it just a normal illness or there’s something serious brewing? As something comes up, we will report it to you.
