The Dallas Cowboys made Thanksgiving this year unforgettable, especially for their owner, by defeating the Washington Commanders 45-10. For Jerry Jones, the win was reminiscent of a Super Bowl win. But Shannon Sharpe raised an eye over Jones’ jubilation while questioning the Cowboys’ goals this season.

Serving as the owner of the Cowboys for over three decades, Jerry Jones has led them to three Super Bowl wins. The Thanksgiving message that the Cowboys’ owner delivered to fans has many, including Sharpe, questioning their aspirations for ending the Vince Lombardi drought in Dallas.

In a recent episode on Nightcap with Unc and Ocho, Shannon Sharpe dissected the Cowboys owner’s statement over their most recent win against the Commanders. Jones stated, “I don’t know that I’ve had a day like this. And I’ll include them all. I’ll put Super Bowls in there, I don’t know if I’ve ever had a better day with the Cowboys than today.” But the retired NFL TE didn’t buy it.

The 56-year-old ESPN host didn’t get in term with Jerry Jones’ statement because the big celebration is still a Super Bowl away. In 2018, Jerry Jones expressed how badly he wanted his team to win another Super Bowl. He said, “It would be shocking if you knew the size of the check I would write if it guaranteed me a Super Bowl… There’s nothing that I would not do financially to get a Super Bowl. So that’s a given.

Shannon Sharpe continued that the 81-year-old would want another win “because he’s starting to come to grips with this mortality. He realizes he has less time than more time on this earth.”

Does this mean the Cowboys are content with resting on their laurels, or are they serious about their Super Bowl aspirations this season? Ever since the season started, the Cowboys have been the favorites to win for many.

After delivering a drastic blow to the Commanders, the Cowboys now stand 2nd in the NFC East with 8-3. Jerry Jones believes that the Cowboys will get a chance to bag a Super Bowl this season, their first since 1995. It would also be the first for star QB Dak Prescott who has yet to play beyond the decision round of the playoffs.

The last game marks the Cowboys’ 13th consecutive win at home. And nobody seemed more content and confident than Jerry Jones who said the Cowboys will put an end to their SB drought. He said, “We’ve got to play and some of them we’ll go by to get one. But this team is certainly capable of winning this whole thing.

The Dallas Cowboys will be facing the 6-5 Seattle Seahawks in their next matchup. While Jerry Jones remains hopeful for another Super Bowl, it’s still early to rule out anything before they face their division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles who lead the NFC East with 9-1.
