Terrell Owens can take a hit. After roughing it out on the field, the retired professional football player seems to be seasoned enough to take almost any kind of hit in a stride! He recently had a locomotive collision following what seemed to be a usual on-court altercation with a stranger. He later took to Instagram to share an update on the situation.

The Pro Hall of Famer has made it to the news for reasons apart from football, post his retirement in 2013. And, it sure is not something the 49-year-old former 49ers wide receiver should be proud of.

In his most recent Instagram post, Owens shares an update on a matter that had caused concern among NFL fans. According to Sgt. Maria Navarro of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, it was reported that the Pro Football Hall of Famer had been struck by a car in the Calabasas area on Monday. Owens took to his Instagram account to share a reel video from the basketball game he was involved in prior to the incident and captioned it, ABOUT LAST NIGHT…BUT I DO HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTECT MYSELF.”

This reaction stemmed from a heated argument that had erupted between the former football player and a stranger during their pickup basketball game. The stranger quickly left the scene after the incident. However, a report was filed, prompting the police to respond and assess the situation involving Owens and the individual at around 10 p.m. on Monday evening in Calabasas.

A report was filed for an ‘assault with a deadly weapon’. But as of now, the authorities have executed no arrests. Owens, who was lucky to not have been injured, further added,“*hope the car is ok!!!” However, this is not the first record of such an incident involving the star wide receiver.

The Hall of Famer had previously been slapped with reckless driving allegations and charged on the grounds of providing false information to the authorities after a woman claimed he had almost run her off the road in his neighborhood in Florida. He was further involved in an incident that took place outside a CVS store in Inglewood, California which included Owens throwing a punch at an unidentified man who had reportedly been harassing people inside the store. But the NFL legend has been trying to shift gears and steer clear of controversy post-retirement, which includes him investing heavily in entrepreneurial projects.
