As the San Francisco 49ers face the Minnesota Vikings at US Bank Stadium on Monday night, the Manning brothers have brought in a popular host. New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers got a chance to have his say about the 49ers, whose childhood revolves around this highly competitive team. And there’s a sad story behind why he didn’t join his idol team when he entered the NFL in 2005.
Aaron Rodgers appeared on Monday Night Football on ManningCast with Peyton Manning and Eli Manning as they discussed the 49ers vs. Vikings game. The Vikings dominated the game with 22-17 as the 49ers faced two straight defeats in a row. As the Jets QB lay on a recovery break that has estimated him sitting out the whole season with his injury, exciting news is in the air.

Aaron Rodgers’ childhood rings with the San Francisco 49ers
The Manning brothers asked Aaron Rodgers on ManningCast what he remembers the most about the 49ers team growing up in California. The Jets QB replied, “I fell in love with the game. Catching the drive. Niners, Bengals, 8-yard line. And taking it down, and hitting for a couple big ones and John Taylor for the win.“Growing up in California, Aaron Rodgers admitted it was a “lot of good years being a Niner fan in the ’80s and ’90s.” He said, “A lot of great moments and that rolled in Steve Young taking over. And his incredible Hall of Fame Career.” But the 49ers didn’t play their best in the last game against the Vikings, which marked their second defeat this season after five consecutive wins.

The 4-time NFL MVP previously played at the University of California, Berkeley, and hoped to be a 49ers draft. But they say never meet your heroes, and Aaron Rodgers is an example who walked confidently, hoping to get drafted by the San Francisco 49ers as the top overall. But he sank to the bottom of the draft on the 24th.

Aaron Rodgers joined the Green Bay Packers in 2005 as their quarterback and led them to a Super Bowl win during his 18 seasons with the team. He joined the Jets this season but is now an injury reserve awaiting his next field duty.

Fans expect a possible Aaron Rodgers’ return this season
Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has sparked hope among fans with a statement on the ESPN2 telecast. He said, “Listen, I’d love to come back this season… You always have to set a goal. Otherwise, you go kind of crazy. And so the goal is to definitely come back.“

Aaron Rodgers is currently out of the game after he ruptured his Achilles tendon, an injury whose recovery was expected to last throughout the season. But six weeks later, he ignited hope in a pregame cameo during a home game between the Jets and Philadelphia Eagles. He put away his crutches and even threw a football with a team staff member.

While Aaron Rodgers sits in recovery, he is making good use of it as he comments on the 49ers vs Vikings game and admits he’s a fan of Brock Purdy. The 49ers will face the Cincinnati Bengals next, and only time will tell if it’ll be another losing streak or finally an end to the two back-to-back losses.
